  • 5/5 from Hannah Robinson, attended May 2026: Aurelie's class was fantastic. Her communication before the class including reminders were great and we found the location easy to find with parking outside. We grabbed a lovely coffee and cannoli downstairs in the Cafe and went upstairs for a 2 hour taster class having never used a wheel before. I bought this as a Mother's Day gift for my Mum, who has always wanted to try throwing on a wheel. Aurelie was welcoming, a patient teacher who we found to be very positive and helpful. We made two items and can't believe how good they turned out. We are looking forward to seeing them dried and glazed ina. few weeks and are hoping to attend another class in the future together. Highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Rhiannon Osborne, attended May 2026: Great class for beginners, very clear and supportive instructor, you learn some core skills and make two pieces of pottery!
  • 5/5 from Yvonne Hattin, attended May 2026: Such a fun class, Aurelie was a great teacher, really enthusiastic & very patient. Highly recommended
  • 5/5 from Calum Edge, attended May 2026: Excellent taster session with a brilliant teacher at Aura Ceramics in Liverpool. Only 4 people per class so everyone gets plenty of focus and direct support. Having never thrown pottery on a wheel before, I didn’t think I would’ve any good, but we made a tapas plate and a small bowl (option for a cup instead of the bowl) and will find out in a few weeks how well I did once they’ve been dried, fired and glazed. Booking was easy, and we plan on booking more classes directly with Aurélie. Really enjoyable evening. If you are considering booking, do it! You won’t be disappointed.
  • 5/5 from Isobel Swan, attended Apr 2026: Had a great time in the class - Aurelie was a great teacher and went at a pace everyone could follow. She was also there to help it anything went long in the way. We will definitely be back for more classes in the future.

  • 5/5 from Neil Salters, attended Apr 2026: We were really looking forward to the class and it was better than we hoped it would be! Aurelie (teacher) was geat. Our fellow students were great. The two hours flew by. Great, great, great!
  • 5/5 from Karen Reese, attended Apr 2026: This pottery throwing class was a surprise gift, and it completely lived up to expectations. We’d been wanting to try it for ages and the small group made it feel relaxed and personal. Aurélie is a wonderful teacher - patient, encouraging and clearly very skilled. It was also surprisingly calming, almost meditative. We were thrilled with the pots we created (far better than expected!) and can’t wait to collect them. It’s definitely left us wanting more - such a fun and rewarding class. We’d highly recommend this taster session and will definitely be back.
  • 5/5 from Ella, attended Apr 2026: Aurelie was a fantastic teacher and was very patient and gentle with her approach. She was friendly and we had a really fun time. The class was small which meant we felt we got the perfect amount of support to leave having made two products each. We'd absolutely love to do another class!
  • 5/5 from Amber-Page Moss, attended Apr 2026: We really enjoyed this class! I got this as a present for my grandad as he has always wanted to try using a pottery wheel. He said that the time just flew over for him as he was so focused and having lots of fun. The instructor, Sophie, gave very helpful demonstrations, explanations and encouragement. She struck a great balance between letting us try things ourselves and stepping in to help when we really needed it. I am heavily pregnant and I eventually got too tired to lean over the wheel and push the clay; Sophie was particularly perceptive in seeing that I just wasn't able to do it anymore and needed help, which I appreciated. We also liked the venue, it was very bright with natural light. We are looking forward to seeing our finished pieces!
  • 5/5 from Shauna, attended Mar 2026: Such a fantastic taster session! The teacher is so knowledgeable and kind, we had a great time making a bowel and a plate. Would definitely recommend and even inspired to continue pottery classes.

  • 5/5 from Kayleigh Beresford, attended Mar 2026: My mum, aunty and I had a great time in this class. Sophie was a brilliant instructor and we all had a really great laugh! We have a few weeks to wait for the firing and glazing but I cannot wait to see the results. Already looking at booking a follow up class. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Nicolle Brussels, attended Mar 2026: Absolutely loved making pottery in this class. The teacher was brilliant at showing and explaining what to do and how to fix our mistakes. She was incredibly patient. I had long nails and she helped me work around that. We made a perfect plate and mug and got to pick our own glazes. I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone.

  • 5/5 from Paul Hughes, attended Mar 2026: Our instructor Aurélie was very good, clear and helpful. She made the session fun and interesting, and we were able to make some items that we can take home with us and cherish (we have to wait 6 weeks or so until they are completely done!). We will look into booking more sessions in the future!

  • 5/5 from Nikki Craig, attended Feb 2026: Amazing class!! Arial was fantastic and the class overall was a fab experience - thank you!!
  • 5/5 from Orla Canavan, attended Feb 2026: Great teacher, good size class, and an excellent introduction to wheel throwing. Looking forward to seeing our finished pieces and hopefully using a wheel again soon
  • 5/5 from Lesley Beattie, attended Feb 2026: Excellent instruction, great results, highly recommended.
  • 5/5 from Catherine Ealey, attended Feb 2026: What a fantastic afternoon well spent with the lovely Aurielle. We were taught how to centre our clay on the wheel, how it is important to keep the clay and your hands wet throughout the process, and we then made small tapas plates/dishes and small bowls. For the second piece we had the choice of bowls or tumbler type pieces (mugs without a handle), we both chose bowls to go with our plates. Although our booking suggests 3 pieces, I suppose it all depends on the amount of time it takes to learn how to handle the clay and wheel, along with attempts at actually throwing the clay too. However, it was a great afternoon, and I look forward to doing it again sometime in the near future.
  • 5/5 from Dan Bowker, attended Feb 2026: We loved our first time on a pottery wheel and Aurelie was an excellent (and very patient) teacher! We can’t wait to pick up each of our two pieces in a few weeks!
  • 5/5 from Simon Foster, attended Feb 2026: We had a brilliant time today and learnt how to throw a plate and a bowl with truly expert and patient teaching
  • 5/5 from Elaine Gallagher, attended Jan 2026: I’ve wanted to do this for about 45 years and I loved this experience! Aurelia was a lovely and encouraging teacher and the small group setting was perfect to enable a great level of support. I’d really recommend having a go at this.

With a background in interior design, beautiful homeware pieces have always been a passion for me. A few years ago, I found myself in a very difficult personal situation and was looking for distractions during my spare time. This is when I stumbled upon ceramics and more specifically wheel-throwing. This new hobby provided me with an opportunity to focus on something else and gave me some temporary peace of mind, which allowed me to start healing and moving forward.
Fast forward a few years, and my love for ceramics only grew stronger. I started to experiment with other materials I could use to create more types of homeware accessories. As I was experimenting and designing more pieces, Aura Ceramics was born! I was able to grow from crafting at my dining table to having my own studio. I now have space to welcome people for live workshop sessions to share my skills.
Today, Aura Ceramics thrives at creating beautiful pieces for your home while hosting live workshop sessions alongside shippable DIY kits. I believe it is my honor and duty to share my craft skills with others - whether you're looking to start a new hobby or would like to find a mindful activity to help you work on your mental health.
