• 5/5 from Sarah, attended Oct 2026: Me and my partner attended an introduction to Ikebana class with Joyce and would thoroughly recommend it to others who are interested. The class began with an introduction to Ikebana which was very interesting and informative. The basic principles of ikebana were then explained to us and we were given a demonstration. The rest of the session was then spent creating our own arrangements. Once we completed our arrangements, Joyce provided feedback and took professional pictures of our flowers. She then wrapped our flowers into bouquets so that we could take them home. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. We look forward to attending another session in the future :)

It was so much more than simply arranging flowers — we were encouraged to slow down, be present and really notice the beauty and character of each stem. I loved learning about the history and meaning behind Ikebana, and how the positioning, shape and movement of each flower can create something so beautiful and meaningful. The hands-on element was fantastic, with guidance throughout before adding our own personalised enhancements and touches. It was such a relaxing, creative and mindful experience. I honestly cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

Then Joyce demonstrated Ikebana and after that we got the chance to do it ourselves. There was a nice selection of flowers to pick from. Thanks to the good instructions we managed to get a result we were happy with. Then we got feedback and Joyce improved the arrangements with some quick changes. The results were stunning and it was then easy to understand how to improve the arrangements. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we were served Chinese tea.

We learned a little about the Ohara Ikebana tradition, Joyce then demonstrated and it was over to us. We had such fun creating our arrangements and got generous feedback! Would wholeheartedly recommend!

The teacher, Joyce, introduced the lesson perfectly, with an overview of the lesson and the Ohara school of ikebana. Joyce was extremely friendly, showing us how to achieve the criteria of Ohara. Provided a wide range of flowers and foliage to experiment with. I would return 100%.

We found the introduction to the history and principles of Ikebana very interesting. Creating our own arrangements was a relaxing and mindful experience, and Joyce’s guidance throughout the session was excellent. She provided feedback on each of our designs, which really helped us appreciate the creativity and intention behind Ikebana. Thank you both for such an enjoyable and memorable class. We started off learning the history of Ikebana then watched Joyce demonstrate then had a go ourselves, whilst enjoying some tea. The studio was relaxed and Joyce and Chloe were approachable and informative. We will be booking on again to learn a different form of Ikebana. Loved every minute!

I could spend hours in this calm atmosphere which felt like a ceremony including the serving of traditional tea upon arrival. As a bonus I even received professional photos of me during the class and my floral arrangements - I could also take my flowers home to practice more! Truly recommend

We learned all about the history of Ikebana, enjoyed a Chinese tea, had a demonstration then got to try it out for ourselves! We made simple arrangements which were then kindly critiqued and improved upon by Joyce. It was incredibly fun and relaxing, and I already want to do it again!

Walking into the studio is like walking into a breath of fresh air and we left completely relaxed, after having an hour and a half of a lovely mindful Ikebana class. I particularly liked how Joyce gave us individual feedback on our creations at the end.

The lesson was very therapeutic and calming. Sometimes, I am afraid to try new things because I am harsh with myself if I am not immediately good at it and I was concerned I would end up feeling bad about myself like I usually do but it was such a warm, calming lesson it was difficult to feel anything else but pure joy!

The work area was set out beautifully which set the scene for a totally relaxing and enjoyable session. Our hosts were lovely and knowledgeable, we started the session with a short presentation, setting out the theory, we then spent the rest of the session practicing with the beautiful flowers. We are both hooked on Ikebana and hope to take further classes with Joyce.

The class focused on the basics of ikebana, including the equiptment and structure envoking natural lines, and balance, arranging with intention rather than abundance. The teacher was patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about ikebana. They explained the cultural background behind the practice while giving gentle, encouraging guidance as we worked. All materials were provided, and the flowers and tools were high quality and well prepared. I left feeling relaxed, accomplished, and inspired to continue practicing ikebana on my own.
