Kids Crochet Class

A fun crochet workshop in Milton Keynes for children aged 8 and older.

8 to 17 years     1.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests       £15

Join our friendly, hands-on crochet class in Milton Keynes, created for children aged 8 and over. Children learn at their own pace: some may complete a small project during the class, while others may need to continue practising at home. Classes can be booked individually, though most children are likely to need two or three sessions to feel confident with crochet.
With just four children in each class, everyone has time to ask questions and get support whenever they need it. The two-hour session is suitable for both right and left-handed children. The main aim is to have fun, build confidence, and enjoy trying something new. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the class.
Children will learn:
  • Hold the crochet hook and yarn comfortably.
  • Make a slip knot to get started.
  • Create a chain with chain stitch.
  • Double crochet stitch
Children who attend several classes may complete a small project, such as a pencil case or an amigurumi creature.
You may also get a cheerful welcome from my excitable chocolate Labrador, who likes to say hello before settling down on the sofa. If you or your child are allergic to dogs or feel uncomfortable around them, please let me know before booking so I can make alternative arrangements for her.
What you'll get
Enough yarn and a crochet hook to compete a small project.

What to bring

Hello, my name is Sandra. I learned to knit when I was seven and still remember standing in the school playground with knitting needles in my hands and a ball of wool in my pocket. I discovered crochet at twelve, starting with a granny square blanket.
Later, I became interested in visible mending and added the Japanese technique of Sashiko to my darning skills, allowing me to repair a wide range of worn and holey textiles.
I love teaching and sharing my creative skills. Seeing students’ enjoyment when they learn something new is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Whenever possible, I use pre-loved materials in both my own work and my classes. My darning and embroidery threads, buttons, knitting needles and some of my yarns are second-hand. This helps me reduce waste, live more sustainably and keep costs down.
I teach crochet, darning and knitting in small classes for adults and children. I also offer individual tuition at £20 p/h. I will travel up to 10 miles from Wolverton (MK12 5) for customers who would like tuition at home.
