What you'll do
Learn how to make your own beautiful sterling silver jewellery in this fun and friendly gemstone setting workshop. It's the perfect creative activity to enjoy with friends or as a relaxing treat for yourself.In this session, you will choose to create either a stunning sterling silver pendant or a unique pair of earrings. You’ll begin by selecting a beautiful semi-precious gemstone to be the centrepiece of your design, with lovely options like Moonstone, Amethyst, Lapis, and Chrysoprase available.If you have a special piece of sea glass or a treasured stone of your own, you are welcome to bring it along to set into your jewellery, as long as it has a flat base. Your tutor will guide you through every step of the silversmithing process, teaching you how to create a setting and secure your chosen stone to produce a professional and stylish piece.This workshop is designed for absolute beginners, so no previous experience is necessary. It's also a great opportunity for returning students to practise and refine their skills.You’ll leave the class feeling a wonderful sense of accomplishment, taking home a gorgeous piece of handmade silver jewellery that is completely unique to you.Please note that a chain is not included with the pendant, but a selection will be available to purchase on the night.

Silver & Steel is an award winning, one of a kind jewellery workshop and gallery space in the heart of Bristol. This is a contemporary Jewellery Gallery and Workshop space with a twist. Set up by local jeweller Bethany May Silver, Silver & Steel aims to make the jewellery industry more accessible and tackle fast fashion culture in jewellery buying habits. We have created a custom built space for jewellery making and are using it to platform local independent designers, introduce people to the craft and create a space for local makers to work and learn together.Silver & Steel values community, accessibility and sustainability. We use 100% recycled silver in all of our workshops (gold available on request). We feel that coming together to learn, shop and invest in the craft is good for the future and we love to connect people with quality design that is light on the earth. Jewellery making is an empowering experience and we are passionate about sharing that with people. Our workshops are taught by experienced professional jewellers with a collective teaching experience of over 30 years. We are rated 5* on google and have the best reviews in Bristol!
