  • 5/5 from Isobel Smith, attended Oct 2026: I really enjoyed the class. Nicola was very patient and went through each step with us, until we picked it up. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Judith, attended Oct 2026: Teacher very pleasant and welcoming and explained clearly what to do and then demonstrated. She then spent time with everyone in turn to make sure we were doing OK. Clear instructions given for those who were left handed or right handed. It was very enjoyable and the time flew.
  • 5/5 from Valerie Evans, attended Oct 2026: My granddaughter really enjoyed her cro hdt beginers workshop. Gave a good incite how to crochet.
  • 3/5 from Sian Lewis, attended Sep 2026: The teacher was really friendly and had a nice teaching style. However with 5 in the group it was difficult to get personal attention if struggling.
  • 5/5 from Chloe Davies, attended Aug 2026: I think that this class is up to groups of 5, but I was lucky and managed to have a one to one session. Keyleigh (I hope that I've spelt your name correctly) is a very patient trainer full of encouragement and positive energy, and she put me at ease. And at the end of the session I left feeling confident to go home and try by myself. I really appreciated being able to choose my favourite colours of wool from a very good selection too. This is the second workshop that I have booked (the other being a one to one sewing machine lesson for my daughter) with Swansea Hobbycraft and I think that they are excellent value for money.
  • 5/5 from Zoe Carmichael, attended Jul 2026: I took my 9 yr old niece, the teacher was fantastic with her. She communicated in a way my niece understood and had so much patience with her. My niece thoroughly enjoyed, I would definetly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Jayne Thomas, attended Apr 2026: Me and my daughter had a lovely time x Nicola the teacher was brilliant and very patient with me because wasn’t the best at the start but I got the hang of it in the end. We had 2 yarns each and a crochet hook and instructions to start us off. Really enjoyed thankyou x
  • 5/5 from Beverly Greenfield, attended Mar 2026: A packet and lovely teacher who was good and clear with her instructions Going over stitches for those of us who struggled A different ability class but she catered for all our needs. Only 5 people do good hands on time. I learned a great deal. My friend who does crochet a little learned different Dutches too.2 balls of wool, a hook, bag and instructions included in the price. I thoroughly enjoyed. Well done Gill and Bev
  • 5/5 from Nicole Swanepoel, attended Nov 2025: I totally forgot about the workshop. So sorry to Kayleigh. We met at the Halloween mache workshop and my son loved making his pumpkin. I hope there were other students at the crochet workshop and we didn't waste too much of the tutor's time. We'll try again in December.
  • 3/5 from Rebecca Buxton, attended Feb 2025: Teacher was great, feel it would be better to offer course for children only
  • 5/5 from Lisa Richards, attended Jan 2025: Alison was very informative and had a lot of patience everyone learnt through the time we only managed 3 stitches techniques. I managed to achieve my 3 stitches and I took along time to do it. As I have never used this tool in crotchet I felt very happy that I did it. If I need help will pop in to see her and eventually show a finished product.
  • 5/5 from Susan Griffiths, attended Jan 2025: Jack enjoyed the class today and felt he learnt a lot Thank you
  • 5/5 from Lynne Richards, attended Dec 2024: Brilliant teaching and great experience for beginners, just wished there was a follow on course after this course if finished.
  • 5/5 from Amelia Coffey, attended Nov 2024: I am a complete beginning so it was great to learn how to start. Kaylee was very helpful breaking it down step by step. I think it would be great if you offered a next step class, as I feel like it wasn't quite enough time, after some home practice with the basics it would be good to have the opportunity to do a 2nd class.
  • 5/5 from Hazel Salter, attended Oct 2024: Very clear instructions and answers all our questions Please could we have a next level in the course. That would be a great help
  • 5/5 from Sarah Lowther, attended Oct 2024: It was a very good class. The teacher explained things well and was very patient. Would of appreciated a cup of tea.
  • 5/5 from Lisa, attended Oct 2024: Nice small group so we were able to have individual attention, if needed. So glad it lasted 1 and half hours. Time flew having to concentrate so much on the stitches. Being a knitter it felt alien learning a new way to craft with wool, but I felt more comfortable towards the end.
  • 5/5 from Helena Landers, attended Aug 2024: We were a class of complete beginners but by the end we had learned how to hold yarn, cast on chain, and 3 other stitches! Teacher was great- lots of patience and bag wool hook and instructions included.

  • 5/5 from Suzanne Stableford, attended Jun 2024: Patient polite and helpful I really enjoyed my session. Thank you to our teacher. Will definitely book more
  • 3/5 from Susan Williams, attended Apr 2024: I was a little disappointed with the class I felt the wool and the crochet hook was to thick for beginners there was 4 of us in the group yet the leader seemed to focus on one of the group and when the others asked anything just said we’d do it all together or on one occasion raised her voice which was in called for x don’t feel I learnt anything
  • 5/5 from Elizabeth Small, attended Mar 2024: Very patient onstructir. Shame there are not more workshops. Would be interested in further workshops

  • 3/5 from Miriam, attended Mar 2024: I am an absolute novice and struggled. The instructor was patient, friendly and encouraging and the other ladies produced good samples, mine was atrocious! I was ok on the first chain but it went downhill from there, this is no reflection on the session, just me. I think I need 1on1 but this is not available locally.
  • 5/5 from Tammy Roberts, attended Feb 2024: Very helpful to learn basic skills and techniques and the instructor was brilliant and very patient

Small class size so able to ask questions and go over things as many times as needed. Beginners class so would definitely look to book for a more advanced class once I’ve practiced the basics more.

  • 5/5 from Babs Collier, attended Jul 2023: I found the crocheting hard but i give 11 out of ten for the patient too the one who was teach she was excellent loads of patients and easy instructions. Would reccomend her too any body who wants too learn crocheting.
  • 4/5 from Stephanie Rees, attended Jul 2023: Hi Really enjoyed the beginners crochet class today. The instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable. The kit provided was ok, would have liked to have chosen own colours. Venue was ok.
  • 5/5 from Susan Crocker, attended Jun 2023: Keyleigh was a wonderful teacher as she portrayed her passion for crochet and the arts and had plenty of patience. Venue was good as it was situated upstairs. Good quality wool and value for money when you add the time factor in also. Learned how to make basic rows of stitching. Really enjoyed.
  • 4/5 from Vivienne Owen, attended May 2023: Enjoyed my little session at Swansea Hobbycraft. Only 3 in our session and teacher was patient and knowledgeable. Good chunky wool and a large crochet hook was provided which were easy to work with. I had a basic idea of technique before going so I could make the most of the time available. I do think follow up sessions would be beneficial as it is difficult to learn a new skill in one short session
  • 5/5 from Siân Harris, attended Feb 2023: This class was brilliant. The teacher was patient and clear. I managed to make progress after endless frustrating attempts at following YouTube videos so I’m over the moon! Sadly though, there are no more crochet classes to sign up for at my local Hobbycraft. It would have been great I could have signed up for a further lesson to build on what I’ve learned. I know I have more questions and need further input in order to progress. I might go online and make a request - perhaps other people will do the same - so that a further group lesson can be organised.
  • 5/5 from Janet Wire, attended Jan 2023: The teacher was brilliant. I’m left handed and she taught right and left handed. The materials provided were really really nice and the class was a great success, situated in an ideal position in the shop. By the end of the class I certainly had mastered what I hoped. Will definitely be signing up for another course soon. Thank you for running these courses I’m sure they inspire people to craft and I’m sure they must help with metal health/stress.
  • 5/5 from Susan Griffiths, attended Jan 2023: We thoroughly enjoyed our class today and now looking forward to completing our first projects
