Our teacher Natalie was very clear with her instructions and also helped us individually when we got stuck. It was great to have a canvas bag filled with 2 balls of wool and a crochet hook ready to start the afternoon lesson.

Definitely far easier to learn this way than following pictures in a book or videos online. I will definitely be going back for more!

  • 5/5 from Catherine Irvine-Fallon, attended Apr 2026: Natalie was a very kind, supportive and informative tutor on the beginners crochet course today. She was excellent at explaining the techniques and even the reasoning behind them adding for example a certain no of extra stitches to the rows according to the stitch type. I praised Natalie and explained what a difference this made to me personally to help me remember and recall the techniques. I've come away from the workshop with much more confidence to be able to eliminate mistakes so. I'm scoring Natalie 9.5/10. I would definitely return to another crochet workshop here @ Hobbycraft Gloucester.

  • 5/5 from Stephanie Lee, attended Jan 2025: I went to this class as I have desperately tried to learn to crochet using online videos but they are too fast. There were 3 of us learning and our teacher was called Natalie. She was kind, helpful, calm and patient. She encouraged us to try and if things went wrong, we could start again. For this class, I was given 2 balls of wool, a crochet hook and an easy to follow guide/insturctions in a bag. The hour and a half flew. For any body reading this that cannot crochet but wants to learn, do this class. The only thing I could do was tie the slip knot to start. Everything else I have learnt today. I came away with my little piece. It is 10 stitches wide by 8 rows long. I am so proud of it. I have enough basic knowledge to practice and improve. I am definitely going to do another class. I really enjoyed the company of the other ladies in the class and the teacher.
