Discover hand-carved wooden block printing in Oxford, a traditional textile craft so rare it's recognised by Heritage Crafts UK as an "endangered" art form – and this relaxed, modern workshop is your chance to learn it firsthand.
In this premium, beginner-friendly two-hour session, you'll get hands-on with a heritage skill passed down through generations, carving and printing your own design under friendly, patient guidance. Whether you're trying something completely new or reconnecting with a creative side you'd forgotten you had, this session is all about slowing down, learning at your own pace, and creating freely without any pressure to get it perfect.
You'll leave with a beautifully personalised, one-of-a-kind piece – and a newfound appreciation for a craft that's too special to lose.
What you'll get
In this beginner-friendly block-printing workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of textile printing with a curated selection of pre-carved wooden blocks. Each block has been handcrafted by skilled artisans, making every print unique.
You’ll explore floral and geometric patterns, experiment with colour and layering, and build your own design step by step.
You’ll start by testing ideas on paper before printing your final piece on fabric.
A complimentary cotton tote bag is included.
What to bring
You’re welcome to bring your own fabric (cotton or linen, including T-shirts or napkins) to personalise.
Wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy, or bring an apron.

Growing up surrounded by maximalist arts and crafts and constantly observing the interplay of colours, textures, and different art forms, I have always been fascinated by the individuality and endless possibilities within creative practices. Eventually, I found myself inclined towards printmaking, which opened up a vast and limitless platform for me to explore and express myself.
Coming from India, my journey has been deeply shaped by observing, understanding and documenting the richness of handicraft and handloom craft clusters. I have immersed myself deeply in this world and always wanted to share this experience with a wider audience — the experience of working with your hands, experimenting with colours, and allowing yourself to explore creatively without hesitation. It is about expressing yourself unapologetically, embracing imperfections
