Great class and very attentive tutor. Surprisingly tiring but enjoyable nevertheless. A very different but welcome birthday gift.

Productive day with excellent tuition, lots of tips and patience to impart years of experience to a complete beginner and achieved a great result . Lovely quiet venue with plenty of space. Be prepared for back ache as table and seating a little low and you end up standing anyway. Perhaps bring an apron and a nail brush and if you're not leaving your masterpiece to be fired, think about how to carry it back safely. We were in with a 2-day course but it worked well as, once each stage was explained, we had time to work before the next stage. Very interesting to see the other pieces people were working on.

A really enjoyable introduction to wood carving. The teacher was very supportive and helpful. There were a range of suggested carvings on offer depending on skill/experience/confidence. Location was nice, though I recommend taking a packed lunch as the café at the location got a bit crowded. Yes, I would recommend this class.

Super patient tutor who supplied all tools and materials. The location is beautiful and you could choose to be inside or out. I chose to carve a heron and considering I am a complete novice, was delighted by the outcome. This course was s gift from my son but I am looking forward to booking myself another weekend. The stone carving looked amazing. Mike

Fantastic 2 day introduction to stone carving. Nice location in the open air around lawn. Tea and coffee and snack provided, with cafe on site if you don't bring your own lunch. Slab of Portland stone and all tools provided. Good choice of projects, with completed examples on hand to help decide and to guide along the creative process. The owl was very well designed as a beginner project - relatively straightforward component steps leading to a recognisable bird and a real piece of art. Miranda provided clear and timely instructions to all, but made sure that we did pretty much all the work ourselves. Excellent weekend experience.

Enjoyed the day and meeting new people. Lovely experience and setting. I made the moon gazing hare. Cannot wait to collect it after it has been fired by the tutor.

An absolutely fantastic day. Great teacher and brilliant venue. Never thought I’d make something so good out of a lump of clay!
Highly recommended and will definitely be back for more classes.

A lovely day surrounded by friendly people. The tutor was very attentive and shared her time equally among the group. The clay was easy to work. This was my first time using clay and it will not be my last.

I only have one small negative. The stairs are a little steep for a disabled person such as me with a stick. This is nothing that can be changed but something future students need to take into consideration if they have difficulty with steps.

Thank you for a lovely day!
