Adults' Screen-printing on Fabric Workshop

Learn a fascinating printmaking technique in Macclesfield!

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

  £48 - £58 (£48 for Tote Bag; £50 for T Shirt; £55 for Coloured T-Shirt; £58 for Apron)

Screenprinting is one of the most satisfying things you can do with a free afternoon, and this workshop is a good way in if you've never tried it. You'll come up with a design based on your interests, turn it into a stencil, and print it onto a tote bag. The bag is included in your ticket. If you'd rather print on a t-shirt, you can upgrade.
You don't need any experience. We'll show you each step as you go, and most people are surprised how quickly it clicks. It's a favourite class at Hope Press, partly because you end up with something useful. It's also very relaxing and absorbing. Once you're working on that stencil, the rest of the world tends to fade away!
We use good quality materials and organic fabrics. You'll be doing the printing yourself. There's a real buzz when you lift the screen and see your design on the fabric for the first time. By the end you'll have a new skill and useful item you made yourself.
All our classes take place in the studio at Adelphi Mill in Bollington. It's light, warm and comfortable. We look forward to seeing you!

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
