Our workshop gives you the opportunity to learn from skilled shipwrights, boat builders and carpenters in a working boatyard in Bristol Harbour.At the end of this one-day workshop, you will leave with your paddle in the design and wood that you have chosen.The cost also includes a voucher to attend a paddle session; making this an ideal present.Upon purchase, you will receive further details, by email, on how you choose your wood. 12 years ago, “The peoples boat yard” was designed to manage the maintenance of the water sports centre, but it quickly transpired that the group had immense potential to expanding our charitable objectives. Over the years, the group has developed expert knowledge, a space and visibility. In 2014, the group launched the first “Rocking the boat” bringing people from the local area to help with social anxieties and offering a space for people to meet. In response to its success, off the group looked for avenues and possibilities to keep up the momentum.This is why we have developed our Wooden Paddle Building Workshop as a way to transfer and share skills and as a way to support our charitable activities.
