Wild Hedgerows Workshop

Join Kate Findlay and create your very own piece of fabric artwork inspired by hedgerow plants and birds.

6 hours Class size 1 to 3 guests       £76 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join textile artist Kate for a relaxed and creative full-day textile art workshop, where you'll spend your time making a beautiful mini fabric artwork inspired by the charm of hedgerow plants and birds.
Throughout the session, you'll design and create a unique textile scene, approximately 20 – 30cm square, using an array of mixed-media fabric techniques. Kate will be by your side to guide you step-by-step through the process, providing plenty of hands-on help while encouraging your own individual creativity. It's a low-pressure environment where you can let your imagination lead the way – since everyone’s style is different, no two pieces will ever be the same.
  • Stencilling and stamping – Experiment with fabric paints to create beautiful textures and patterns.
  • Cutting and collaging – Work with pre-bonded leaves and branches to build your scene.
  • Adding details – Incorporate a printed bird motif to bring your artwork to life.
  • Free-motion embroidery – Finish your piece with intricate stitching to add depth and character.
This experience is perfect for first-timers and experienced makers alike, as Kate’s supportive teaching style ensures you'll fit right in and feel empowered throughout the day. You'll enjoy a mindful break from the daily grind, focusing on the joy of creating something with your own two hands.
You'll finish the day feeling inspired and walk away with a handcrafted keepsake that perfectly captures your creative spark.
Please note: Kate will bring most of the materials needed, however, there will be a small charge on the day to cover items such as backing felt and fusible web. A detailed list of other requirements will be emailed to you in advance. Attendees at classes at this venue receive a 10% discount at the on-site coffee shop. Free parking is available at the front of the shop, and the venue is fully accessible with disabled parking and ramps.
