2-hour taster class. No experience necessary, just bring your enthusiasm! Designed for complete beginners or for those dusting off their throwing skills after a lengthy hiatus.
This friendly group class introduces you to the basics of wheel throwing. You'll learn to wedge clay, centre it on the wheel, and shape it into a simple cylindrical vessel. As you get comfortable, we’ll guide you towards more advanced forms, all at your own pace.
The studio is located just off the A3 at the Ripley turning, a beautiful light-filled space with state-of-the-art equipment and tutored by experienced potter Gemma Wightman.
The pieces you create will be fired and ready for you to collect in about a month, giving you a lasting memory of your pottery experience.

What to bring
Just bring yourselves! It's recommended that you have short nails and wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting clay on, although it does wash out fine.
