Wet Felt Poppy Brooch Workshop

Turn fluff into fabric at this felting workshop.

3 hours Class size 5 to 20     label £30

In this felting class in Swansea, you will have the opportunity to learn the magical art of transforming fluff into fabric! Wet felting, an ancient technique used in fabric making, will be the focus of this workshop. By adding water, soap, and friction to pure wool, you'll be amazed at how it can be turned into beautiful fabric.

Don't worry if you're a beginner - this workshop is beginner-friendly, and no previous experience is necessary. You'll be guided step-by-step through the process, ensuring you feel confident and relaxed throughout.

During the workshop, you'll have the chance to create a multi-layered poppy brooch. Whether you want to make a big statement piece to wear on your winter scarves and coats or a smaller, more subtle one for everyday wear, the choice is yours! Each brooch will be unique and have its own personality, making it a real conversation starter when you wear it out.

Throughout the day, you'll be able to enjoy teas, coffees, and biscuits, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All materials you'll need for the workshop will be provided, so you can just focus on unleashing your creativity.

If you'd like to make more than one brooch, kits will be available for purchase on the day. This allows you to continue exploring the art of wet felting at home and create even more stunning fabric pieces.

By the end of this felting class in Swansea, you'll not only have learned a new skill but also have a beautiful poppy brooch to take home.

I have been a crafter for as long as I can remember, it's definitely a family thing, my mother, grandmother and great grandmother were all crafters. I believe we are all born with a tiny seed of creativity, luckily for me it was nurtured throughout my upbringing.

I love creating and making - transforming beads, wool, cord etc into wonderful and unique creations! It's therapeutic and soothes my soul! The next best thing is passing on this knowledge through teaching.

I started teaching crafting around 2013/2014, initially Beadweaving and quickly became an international bead designer (see Dragonfly Designs UK) and as time went on I incorporated my other crafts, Needlefelting, Weaving, Wetfelting, Wool Spinning, Macrame, Crochet, knitting, Fluid Art - and still have more I want to discover.

I live and work 5 minutes from the ocean under the name 'Happy Ever Crafter' which is located on the Swansea Bay coast in South Wales, UK. Being so close to the ocean, national parks and mountains really sparks my creativity.
