What you'll do
Wax Carving is a fun and diverse method of producing fine-detailed or unusually shaped jewellery that is not easily achieved using constructive silversmithing methods.During this one-day course, we will show a range of carving techniques, demonstrating both experimental approaches to give strong textures and organic forms, as well as precision methods to achieve a planned design. You can carve your own ring designs or forms that can later be finished off into pendants, earrings, or cufflinks.After the course, your pieces will be sent off to be cast in sterling silver. You can either clean up and finish your pieces in your own studio or weekly class, or come along to one of our Jewellery Taster Days to complete your pieces.
