Want to make a start in painting or brush up on your existing skills? This ten-week painting course in Northampton is the ideal starting point for a lifelong pursuit of a creative life.
Led by experienced local artist Gerald Porter, you'll build your skills each week by following Gerald's expert demonstrations, picking up step-by-step experience as you work with a combination of watercolour paints and other media, teaching you how to add a personal dimension to your work. With close, personal tuition and some simple, relaxing exercises, you might surprise yourself with how quickly you pick up these impressive techniques.
Even if this is your first time picking up a paintbrush, don't fret: Gerald will be on hand throughout the course to offer the benefit of his experience. Whether you need a helping hand, some insider tips or just some inspiration to help the creativity flow, you'll have all the support you need. Whether you're coming along by yourself or looking for fun things to do with your partner or a few friends, you'll love learning to paint in this social, supportive and beginner-friendly environment.

Your teacher
Gerald Porter is an experienced artist having trained in South Wales and London at Hornsey College of Art. He has completed education qualifications at the University of Leicester and Exeter Institute of Education.
As an artist, he has held successful exhibitions at the Strand Gallery and Meniere Gallery London as well as being a frequent exhibitor locally in Northampton, Kettering, and Leicester.
He is a Fellow of the FPAA, awarded in 2019, and is a Demonstrator for Art Profile for which he gives talks and demonstrates his talent for watercolours.
