Creative kids will love crafting a unique Halloween decoration that is certain to set a spooky scene! This mache pumpkin project is a great way to get the Halloween fun started and it’ll teach them all about making with mache.
The tutorial is designed for kids aged three years and over. They’ll have an expert Hobbycraft colleague showing them every step of the way, with a fantastic variety of craft materials provided in store to help them transform one spooky pumpkin – from googly eyes to tissue paper! There are so many ways to make something unique.
Whether kids have never made with mache before or they just love getting stuck in with this versatile craft, the workshop will be a fun way to embrace Halloween excitement.
All participants will walk away with pumpkins to put on display. Please note, you may need to allow for drying time.
Workshop suitable for ages 3+ years. All kids’ craft workshops require adult supervision. One ticket is required per child.
Our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas, and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

My child, who is just under 4, was engaged the entire time and really enjoyed the activity. The teacher was wonderful - very patient, attentive, and supportive. She guided the children step by step and offered help whenever needed, which made it easy for even the little ones to follow along. There were plenty of materials provided, and everything was well-organised. The venue was nice and comfortable, though a slightly bigger table would have been helpful — but that didn’t affect the experience in any way. Overall, I really enjoyed the workshop, especially the fun, hands-on activity and the teacher’s friendly approach. We would definitely attend again!

In future perhaps a couple of simple modifications could be on offer to make it easier / quicker for those of less ability - for example, bigger paint brushes or one or two decorations that might be easier to stick on. But we had a really lovely time! Sharon the teacher was really kind and helpful and supportive and created a lovely atmosphere despite the difference in age of the children attending!
