Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the art of visible mending and embroidery to upcycle and transform worn clothes into unique, wearable treasures. Led by Stephie, an embroidery expert with over 15 years of experience, this session will introduce you to essential stitching and embellishment techniques, including satin stitch, chain stitch, French knots, and the Japanese Sashiko technique.This is a creative and relaxing workshop, offering a fun and mindful way to unwind while learning new skills. Bring along clothes with holes, stains, or pieces you'd love to personalise, and we’ll guide you in selecting the best embroidery techniques to bring your vision to life. If you don’t have anything to mend, no worries—fabrics and a variety of colourful threads will be available for experimentation.This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced stitchers alike, offering a creative and sustainable way to give old garments a new lease of life. Tea, coffee, soft drinks, and snacks will be provided. Feel free to get in touch beforehand to discuss ideas and make the most of your session! A selection of fabrics to use for Sashiko embroidery, testing, and practicing will be available alongside a wide range of embroidery threads to use in the session and some to take home.
