No previous experience is needed. Our friendly instructor guides you step-by-step, helping you explore the elegant language of Ottoman design as you create your own unique piece.
In the İznik tile painting workshop, discover the beauty of classic Ottoman motifs: graceful tulips, carnations, hyacinths, saz leaves and flowing floral compositions inspired by the magnificent ceramics of the İznik tradition. Using rich cobalt blue, turquoise, coral red and white, you will paint a design that feels both historic and entirely your own.
And the best part? You make it yourself and take your finished creation home.

What you'll get
Guests will all leave with a handmade, unique, and beautiful Turkish mosaic light that they have made themselves. They will take part in the design and creation.
They will also get to experience real Turkish Delight (VG, GF) and Turkish tea.
Guest participation will involve recreating classic Turkish patterns or expressing their own artistic vision under the guidance of an experienced instructor who will take guests through each step of the process, making it perfectly accessible for complete beginners.

For the past three years, Sheri’s Ottoman Emporium has been part of the Clifton Village community, bringing a genuine taste of Türkiye to Bristol. From the moment I opened the doors, the response from the local community has been incredibly special. What began as a Turkish shop has grown into a place where people can discover, experience and connect with Turkish culture.
Our motto is “Taste of Culture” and that is exactly what we aim to create.
Located in the heart of historic Clifton Village, Sheri’s Ottoman Emporium is more than a shop. Step inside and you’ll find yourself surrounded by colourful Turkish mosaic lights, handpicked ceramics, traditional designs and beautiful pieces inspired by the rich artistic heritage of Türkiye and the Ottoman era. Every detail has been carefully chosen to create the feeling of stepping into a little corner of Türkiye inspired by the atmosphere of places such as Istanbul’s famous Grand Bazaar.
Authenticity is at the heart of everything we do. Guests can experience hot sand-brewed Turkish coffee, traditional Turkish tea, real gelatin-free Turkish delight and freshly made homemade baklava, while discovering beautifully crafted pieces inspired by centuries of Turkish and Ottoman design.
Our connection to Turkish mosaic art is also deeply personal. Mosaic light-making has been passed down through our family for three generations, and we are proud to continue this tradition by sharing the craft with our guests.
That is why our workshops are designed to be more than simply making a beautiful lamp. Guests get the chance to create their own Turkish mosaic light, learn traditional techniques, explore Turkish and Ottoman-inspired patterns, and experience the culture behind the craft. From choosing colourful glass and beads to creating their own design, every guest becomes part of the creative process and leaves with something they have made themselves.
We also welcome birthdays, hen parties, celebrations, private groups and corporate experiences, bringing our Turkish-inspired atmosphere and hands-on creativity to special occasions.
