FAQ

How long do I wait to collect my pottery & what times can I collect?
It can take up to 6 weeks for your creation to be fired twice by our team and clear glazed. Please collect from 6 weeks after your session. There is no need to message or email, it will be definitly be ready to collect after 6 weeks. Please have a photo of your piece ready to show us on arrival for a speedy collection. Please also bring wrapping or something to protect your pot with you. The best time to collect is during our cafe opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday: 9am - 2pm Pots not collected within 3 months of your initial booking will be added to our 'free to collect' shelf & will find new homes. So pots must be collected on time, to avoid disapointment. For ‘Come Back & Glaze’ collect two weeks after your glazing session. You have one month in total collect from your glazing session.
Do you offer postage?
We can post your pottery pieces to you for a fee if you are unable to collect.
Do you have parking?
We do not have parking in front of the cafe, as we are in the busy area of Stokes Croft. There is paid off street parking nearby, but please factor in finding parking in your timings. We would recommend travelling by bus, walking or getting the train to Montpelier Station (which is a 5 minute walk away).

  • 5/5 from Annie, attended Oct 2026: Highly recommend! We had a lovely time doing the throwing pottery class. Our teacher was amazing at explaining and helping as it was most of the group's first time. We all got to make 3 separate clay pieces each and we'll decided to choose the additional glazing options. Great family day out!
  • 5/5 from Pamela Morgan, attended Sep 2026: We had a wonderful afternoon throwing on the wheel pottery class with Gabbie. She was so calm, encouraging, knowledgeable and accommodating. She adapted the activity for my elderly mother in law and was so kind. We each threw three small pots and were delighted with our creations! It was so relaxing and grounding. I had the class as a birthday gift ans I love watching Pottery Throwdown on TV and the process of booking was simple. Communication with the teacher was excellent and she was so helpful when discussing disabled parking and access. I highly recommend this if you want to try throwing on the wheel. Great fun!

  • 5/5 from Freya Dall, attended Sep 2026: Me and my partner went to a private class for two which was run by Gabi. Both of us were beginners and everything was explained to us and demonstrated so well. I managed to make 4 in the time and he made 3 so plenty of time to practice and still come away with a few items to take. Defiantly would recommend, we are already planning to book to go along and glaze them!
  • 5/5 from Winnie Au Yeung, attended Sep 2026: Very nice and patient teacher, she explained all the steps in detail and showed us all the steps. She also helped us with our problems. We had a great experience making our own pottery piece. Our child really enjoyed the class!

My partner and I came for a solo session and she went into a lot of detail on the techniques and quirks of pottery. We’ll be returning to glaze our creations and look forward to coming back!
  • 5/5 from Louise Hallett, attended Aug 2026: Such an excellent class run by Ella, who was so knowledgeable, calm and an excellent encouraging tutor. A really small group of four meant we all had plenty of Ella’s time. A great, productive couple of hours and I would love to return
  • 5/5 from Aleisha Braich, attended Aug 2026: Had the best time again! I've been previously but this time I was taught by Fran! • 5/5 from Sara Egrtova, attended Jul 2026: This was my first time throwing clay with my partner, and we had an amazing experience!! We opted for the private class service, which gave us the privacy, attentive care, and therapeutic experience we were looking for. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was pleasant. We were warmly welcomed and offered beverages. They inquired about our prior knowledge or experience and followed up with a demonstration. When it was our turn, our teacher, Gaby, guided us throughout the entire 2-hour session. It was so much fun! I highly recommend it, whether you’re a beginner or not. The time was just enough to create a few pieces and learn a new skill. Thank you, Gaby, for the unforgettable experience :))

  • 5/5 from Evan Morris, attended Jun 2026: Gabby the teacher was amazing, very kind, incredibly helpful. Her approach was to be hands off to let you experiment and get a feel for the throwing, but always there to help suggest corrections and jump in if needed. Highly recommend. Coffee and tea were also fantastic.
  • 5/5 from Helena Boultwood, attended Jun 2026: Tutor was excellent, very helpful and the right amount of hands on/hands off. I was surprised that the bowls I made weren't too bad! You can easily make three pots/bowls in the time which feels good value.

  • 5/5 from Christopher Jones, attended Mar 2026: This was an xmas gift from the wife, what a great gift! Gabby the instructor was great, so helpful, I really enjoyed having a go, made 4 reasonable looking pots, the wife bought me a gift card for the full amount of the course but you put the price up so I had to pay a little extra, put the choice of either full payment or part at booking so when someone pays full it is actually no more to pay out even if you do put the price up, apart from that it was a great way to spend a few hours and the 2 ladies that made up the rest of the attendees also made the day, so friendly, and yes I would do it again.
