In this traditional Japanese cooking workshop, you'll learn how to create your own sushi using authentic techniques and ingredients. Throughout the session, you'll develop essential sushi-making skills while crafting a variety of rolls to take home for lunch.
This hands-on activity welcomes participants of all skill levels, requiring no previous experience with Japanese cuisine. The process combines precision with creativity – perfect for both beginners and experienced cooks looking to master this beloved culinary art.
During the workshop, you'll prepare several classic sushi varieties including colourful rainbow vegetable maki with their neatly wrapped seaweed exterior, Californian uramaki (inside-out rolls) featuring surimi and avocado, and substantial prawn and crispy shallot futomaki. You'll learn proper rice preparation, filling techniques, and the art of tight rolling that creates professional-looking results.
By the end of this enjoyable workshop, you'll have created a selection of beautiful sushi rolls and gained the confidence to continue making great sushi at home.
