The Glass Cabin hosts fused glass workshops in Bristol for people and groups of all ages and abilities. I've been running workshops for almost 10 years, and working with kiln-formed glass for many years before that.
I first fell in love with glass in an evening class in stained glass and kiln-forming at Bristol School of Art. I'd studied Fine Art at university and had a career in web design, but it was the hands-on making - cutting, layering, watching things transform in the kiln - that really hooked me. In 2017, that passion became a business: The Glass Cabin.
I love teaching fused glass. Whether you follow a template or create your own design, I'll guide you through bringing it to life. People often completely lose themselves in their own piece, surprising themselves with what they've created. Each session is mindful and relaxing, a chance to switch off and let your creativity flow, whatever age or ability.
Alongside teaching, I create and exhibit my own artwork. Exploring the microcosmic world of plant cells, I'm fascinated by the unseen structures that determine how things grow and take their final form, and I spend much of my time translating that world into glass, building up flowing, cellular forms piece by piece.
Whether you've never tried fused glass before or you're already hooked, I run workshops for all abilities - from a relaxed taster session, all day studio experience, group bookings, team building events, or simply some creative time for yourself. I'd love to welcome you into the studio or one of my venues.
