FAQ

Can I bring my own vessel to the terrarium workshop?
Yes, absolutely. We just need to know in advance. Pricing depends on the size and suitability of the vessel. In some cases there may be a small discount, no change in price, or an additional fee. If you send us the dimensions ahead of time, we will confirm the cost before your workshop.
Can I bring a friend to just sit in and watch?
No, sorry. Our workshops have limited seating and work space, so we cannot accommodate non participating guests. This is why we offer a shared terrarium ticket, which allows two people to attend together while making one terrarium.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Many people attend solo and it is always a lovely, relaxed atmosphere.
See more FAQs
Can I eat or drink during the workshop?
Drinks are welcome and available to purchase. At some point the table does get very messy (think plant soil everywhere!) so please eat something small at the beginning of the workshop!
Is the workshop suitable for children?
Our workshops are designed for adults and older teens. If you are considering bringing someone under 14, please email us first so we can advise.

  • 5/5 from Romi Nakkeeran, attended Sep 2026: This was an absolutely fabulous evening. Sam was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us about terrariums generally and coached us through making ours. She was super supportive, helped if we needed and offered advice on different plants depending on the vibe you were going for. All the tools and materials were beautifully organised and presented. Everyone there was lovely and it was just such a fun night. The choice of plants to use was incredible and she was ready to go and grab whatever we needed. Honestly would 100% recommend - thank you for such a fabulous evening. We will be coming back for another workshop for sure!!! Top tip- research terrariums before because the choice of plants, style, pebbles, stones, shells etc is insane so you'll have so much to choose from.
  • 5/5 from Daisy, attended Sep 2026: Really enjoyed the class, learnt all about terrariums and was guided every step of the way!
  • 5/5 from Luwam Mehari, attended Sep 2026: The teacher was really good at telling us what to do and helping us on what we need help with and my favourite part was putting the plants in and decorating them with stones
  • 5/5 from Antonio Maldonado Iii, attended Aug 2026: It was an amazing birthday present for my partner! Fun class, and despite me having mini-panic attacks about ruining everything, our teacher Sam coached me through everything!
  • 5/5 from Léa Trichet, attended Aug 2026: Lovely class!! Sanne is amazing and extremely friendly, and her instructions were very clear. I walked out with not only a beautiful and fun terrarium, but also the skills to make another one by myself if I want to in the future. Also to note, the shop where the class is organised is just the BEST - if you love plants and fun home decor, you won't be disappointed! 100% would recommend
  • 5/5 from Kate Hollands, attended Jun 2026: Amazing teacher, was warm, welcoming and helpful throughout and great location too, her little shop was a great backdrop for such a class. Great options provided for your terrarium and it’s worth the money, lots of variety available. friendly atmosphere as well with lots of encouragement from others attending.
  • 5/5 from Boo Edi, attended Jun 2026: This was such a lovely introduction into making a terrarium- hosted by the owner Sanne. Each step of the process was so interesting, fun and informative that two hours literally flew by as we made our own little tropical rainforest in a jar! The choice of plants, rocks and pebbles are beautiful -I’m hooked! Totally recommend :)
  • 5/5 from Florence, attended Jun 2026: Firstly the shop is super lovely. Sam the owner gave great background and has a lot of knowledge. I really enjoyed making the Terrarium there! the hours just a flown past when you’re having fun.

  • 5/5 from Tarik Quintans, attended Mar 2026: What a fun workshop this was. We went through the history of Ivy and Wolf, then onto the origins of Terrariums followed by a careful examination of how to build a terrarium. The teacher provided all the tools and materials necessary for building your terrarium. There's dozens of different plants, rocks, pebbles to use from which makes each terrarium unique. You'll sit down with a close group of people and get a careful and guided tutorial on how make your idea come true. Will definitely come back for more!
  • 5/5 from Charlotte Stocks, attended Mar 2026: What an amazing thing to do on a Thursday. Sanna was east to contact leading up to the workshop and a joy during. We came away with a terrarium we couldn’t be happier with.
  • 5/5 from Rachael Mole, attended Feb 2026: I bought my partner here as part of his Valentine's gift and we created a shared terarium. We both had a lovely evening. There were 2 other couples and someone who came on their own which meant that out teacher was able to personally help each of us, when needed, and timings ran smoothly. It meant each of our own personal styles were encouraged and we didn't feel rushed. It was a relaxed atmosphere and our teacher, Jasmine, was professional, but fun. She taught us about the theory behind each stage and was very knowledgeable, but she also took time to chat with each group and brought us together as a team which made this experience even more enjoyable. My partner and I love our terarium and would definitely do this again. We've already recommended this experience to family and friends and we're keen to try the perfume making workshop too.

She took us carefully through each stage explaining everything fully and also answering all our questions. It was interesting to hear the history of them as well. The supplies were excellent. We each got a large glass vessel and then had access to all the equipment we needed- specialist tools, a large range of materials and a big selection of beautiful plants. Sanne was brilliant and on hand to talk through any questions we had and she had answers to them all!! • 5/5 from Emma Zarifi, attended Jun 2022: Learned how to plant with all the tools and advice regarding soil removing and adding soil and gravel.Teacher was very informative and well equipped and tools where all great to use in creating our unique pieces. The venue was brilliant really calming and lovely vibe. Maybe a suggestion of opportunity for different sizes of glass if we want to create smaller pieces only if people dont have much space at home. Other than it all it was fabulous and love the piece I made.

Ivy and the Wolf started by Sanne, a plant-enthusiast from the Netherlands.
Starting as an online business in 2019, we opened our first brick and mortar store in the heart of Crystal Palace London during the pandemic.
We are an indoor plant shop and cafe with a large range of tropical plants, cacti and succulents, but also a large selection of interesting pots, homewares and accessories.
We have a particular love for unusual and unconventional plants so you will most likely find something you have never seen before!
Having previously worked as a workshop host, owner Sanne wanted to combine her plant-knowledge with her love for teaching, and that's how we started hosting workshops in the shop.
Sanne loves to share her knowledge and can answer pretty much any question you might have.
And besides all that, the workshops take place right in the middle of the shop and cafe with the best atmosphere!
Please check out our online reviews and feel free to pop by the shop in case you have any questions
