In this delightful workshop, you'll master the art of creating your own thriving terrarium—a miniature glass garden that brings a touch of natural wonder to any space. Under expert guidance, you'll learn how to construct a living ecosystem using specialist Soil Ninja components, carefully selected plants, and proper layering techniques, all housed within a striking glass vessel that you'll take home.
Despite their professional appearance, terrariums are surprisingly straightforward to create. Our plant expert will guide you through each step, making what might seem like an intimidating project into an enjoyable and achievable experience.
During this absorbing two-hour activity, you'll discover the secrets of proper soil layering, learn the precise technique for positioning plants in confined spaces, and gain valuable knowledge about maintaining your miniature garden. Working in our charming shop setting, you'll select from our curated collection of plants to design your own unique living arrangement. There's something deeply satisfying about crafting these tiny worlds—watching as each layer builds upon the last to create a self-contained garden that's entirely your own.
By the end of this enriching workshop, you'll have gained confidence in terrarium construction and plant care, along with practical knowledge you can use to maintain your creation. Your completed terrarium will be ready to display immediately, bringing a slice of botanical beauty to your home or office. The skills you learn will enable you to create more of these enchanting glass gardens in the future, opening up a whole new world of indoor gardening possibilities.

Here at Windowsill, we love houseplants, and we want you to love them too! We have a gorgeous shop at 2 Roman Way, Market Harborough with a wonderful dedicated workshop space upstairs. We've created a wonderfully warm and nurturing space where you can enjoy our small group events.
Windowsill is run by Susie, who leads our houseplant-focused workshops. She has been looking after houseplants for most of her life and passes on this experience in a relaxed and informative way, so you can stop worrying and start to enjoy your houseplants.
Susie is an experienced teacher, having spent part of her previous non-houseplant-related work life writing and delivering training courses on tricky topics. It's a joy to now be sharing her love of houseplants so that you can increase your confidence and knowledge and develop skills to grow your own indoor jungle.
When she is not in the shop, Susie is a much sought-after speaker delivering talks to Women's Institutes and gardening clubs; whether it is a group of 80 in a village hall or a small session in the shop, you'll be sure to come away entertained and with a new motivation to enjoy your houseplants.
