Join this pottery workshop in Brighton and treat your team to a tactile, mindful experience that's perfect for a work wellness event or away-day activity. Working with clay offers a unique way to switch off, and even if your colleagues don't see themselves as "creative, " they'll likely surprise themselves with what they can produce when they're focused on the task at hand.
Designed for complete beginners, these sessions provide a low-pressure environment where your group can have fun together and make beautiful, handcrafted ceramics. Your expert tutors will be there to guide you through every step of the process, ensuring everyone feels supported as they get hands-on with the clay.
  • Hand-build a pinch pot – Learn the foundational technique of shaping clay with your hands.
  • Create a functional keepsake – Turn your pinch pot into a high-quality stoneware coffee cup, plant pot, or tea-light holder.
  • Customise your work – Use coloured slips and the sgraffito carving technique to decorate your pot and make it one of a kind.
  • Optional team icebreaker – Start the session with "Clay Consequences, " a fun game where teams use air-dry clay to sculpt different parts of a creature to create an absurd monster.
You'll finish the session feeling recharged and inspired, taking home a unique ceramic piece that serves as a tangible reminder of a joyful day spent with your team.
Please note: The 1-hour "Clay Consequences" icebreaker is available for an extra £10pp.

FAQ

How many people can do this workshop?
The workshop is designed for 6 - 20 people. We can host groups of up to 8 in our studio, and for larger groups can host at one of our partner venues in Brighton or at a suitable venue of your choice. If you have a larger group we can design a bespoke workshop for you, or run two sessions.
Can you come to us?
Yes, we are very happy to travel to a venue of your choice within a 40 mile radius of Brighton. Depending on location there may be a surcharge for travel costs. We don't require much, just a place at a table for every participant.
Is it messy? Our office is carpeted....
This is not a very messy activity, and we will clean up thoroughly afterwards. If clay scraps fall onto the floor they are dry and can be easily vacuumed up, so even if your space is carpeted it won't be a problem.

Hot Fox Pottery is run by Alice and Tom Fox from our studio in Brighton.
We love introducing people to pottery, and our workshops are creative, relaxing and fun. There is so much you can do with clay, and everyone at our pottery classes comes away feeling proud of the lovely things they have made.
Pottery is a wonderfully tactile craft, and people who come to our sessions often describe the experience as therapeutic, surprising themselves with what they can do, even as a total beginner.
We have lots of experience of running workshops for large groups, parties and team-bonding, and can also bring our mobile studio to you!
We use high-end stoneware materials and beautiful glazes, and the pots you make will be things you can use for years to come.
