What you'll do

Choose Your Template

There are lots of clear glass templates to choose from. Here, we show you how it works in photo steps using different templates.

Think of a Design

Once you choose your shape, you draw around the edge and sketch a simple design. We'll be on hand to help!

Start Adding Glass

Lay your chosen template over your design and start adding the glass. Here are some millefiori and rods to create different effects.

Build Your Design

Keep adding the colourful glass frits and fragments. There is glue available for you to stick these pieces to your template!

Admire Your Work

When you're finished you can admire your work. Write your name and number on the worksheet and Katie will do the rest!

All Done

Your work will be fired and cleaned up. Katie will text you when your work is ready to collect or it can be posted for a small charge.

At our exciting fused glass workshop in Essex, you will learn how to design, make, and create your very own fused glass decorations to take home. You can choose from various projects such as a set of coasters, a wall panel, or a bowl.

Don't worry if you are new to fused glass! Our workshop welcomes everyone aged 16 and above, regardless of your skill level. We focus on learning and creativity rather than perfectionism.

What to expect:

Explore the studio, find your spot at the table with all the necessary tools and materials, and get ready to engage in a fun and creative session.
Guidance through the basics of fused glass creation, explaining safety measures, layering techniques, and ways to add different effects to your work.
Create your own project, connecting with fellow participants in a welcoming atmosphere.
Enjoying a fun and creative evening - bring your own nibbles if you so wish!

After the class, leave your finished pieces in Katie's care as she fires them up in the kiln. Your fused glass art will be beautifully finished with ribbons and packed away in molten wonky boxes. You can collect your creations from our studio or opt for them to be posted to you for an additional fee.

Molten Wonky — Glass Fusing Studio

Come and try the magic of fused glass at Molten Wonky. No experience is needed to create and make something beautiful.

We offer different types of workshops, from Open Studio drop-in sessions to 3-hour workshops and glass nights.

Choose your template from our ever-changing range of designs — from sun catchers and coasters to hearts and bowls — then arrange your glass pieces, add color and texture, and hand your creation back to us to fire in our kiln. Your finished glass piece is then ready to collect a week later when it's been transformed into something permanent and gorgeous.

It's the perfect creative escape for complete beginners, curious crafters, and anyone who fancies trying something a little different.

Suitable for ages 5 and up, so great for families, solo visitors, or a bit of time out with friends.
