Stacking Rings Workshop

Looking for a new craft that'll let you create dazzling jewellery for yourself or some lucky friends and family? Join your hosts Sarah and Violeta and learn how to make a set of stylish, versatile stacking rings.

You will make three to five stacking rings that sit one upon another, with each one finished with your choice of texture. Using traditional silversmithing techniques and tools, you will learn how to cut out your silver with a jewellers’ saw before filing it to the perfect shape. Then using a blowtorch, you will learn the annealing technique which is used to soften the metal so that it can be shaped using jewellers’ hammers and a mandrel.

You'll have your friendly, knowledgeable hosts behind you every step of the way as you solder your rings, practice applying different textures on some copper sheet and give your finished rings that final polish to give a professional flourish. Don't worry if this is your first time working with metal, as you'll have help and support throughout the session, plus plenty of hot drinks to keep you going.
