What you'll do
If you have always wanted to try your hand at sewing but had no idea where to begin, does that sewing machine of yours need some love? Book into our Beginner’s Course and you’ll be sewing in no time!Our Beginner’s Course is suitable for "never touched a sewing machine before starters" and "returning sewers" alike. The classes are focused on building your machine confidence, teaching you useful, transferable skills that will set you up for a successful sewing journey in a super friendly and sociable environment.The course begins at the most basic level: learning how to thread up a machine, the ins and outs of the machine, and then we’ll get cracking with making! You’ll leave the course with several sewing projects under your belt. These projects have been carefully picked to teach you a wide range of what we believe are the most useful skills for a new sewer. You’ll use them again and again until you’re a pro!After completing this course, all our other courses open up to you – that’s right, even dressmaking! So jump in and we will get you where you want to be in no time, whether that is making your clothes, sewing your homewares, or making amazing quilts!This is a 5-week course and will run each week for 5 consecutive weeks after the first date.What to bring:
- A good sewing kit would be useful
- You are most welcome to bring your sewing machine if you would like to become more acquainted with it
- Tea, coffee, and cake included

What you'll get
Hands-on expert tuition to safely set up and use a sewing machine. Materials and equipment are supplied. You will take on a wide selection of sewing projects to take home, as well as learn new techniques to last a lifetime.

No skills needed.Minimum age 13+.
What to bring
1-2 meters of your choice of final fabric if you choose but not necessary. You will not need this fabric until week 4 of the course. We will discuss fabric in week 3.
