How can we help?
Q: Do I need any creative experience?
No experience needed at all. This session is designed for beginners, non-artists and the creatively curious. There is no right or wrong, we're interested in you expressing yourself creatively. Just come as you are.
Q: Is this an art class or more of an experience?
It’s an experience first, with guidance throughout. This isn’t a traditional art class with rules or right answers. It’s about play, curiosity, and discovering what happens when you give yourself time to be creative.
Q: What will the atmosphere be like?
Relaxed, friendly and encouraging. This is a supportive space where everyone is welcome. There’s no judgement, no competition, and no pressure to be “good” at anything.
Q: What will I take home?
You'll take home your clay piece and any charcoal sketches you've done during the session.
Q: What equipment is provided?
You'll get an apron to use, a lump of air dry clay (enough to make a sculpture, mug or pot and lid). Tools and implements to help you sculpt, carve and slab.
Q: Is there parking?
For evening and workshops on a Sunday there is free street parking on Heigham Street. Workshops on a Saturday there is limited parking at the rear of Capitol House, enter via sign for Petes Motors. There are also two car parks (paid) that are very close: - Barn Road - https://share.google/EFFvGpYv32dPK5bWz and - Westwick Street - https://share.google/05eZUAVwj00TUqFCH Please do not park in the reserved spaces at the front of the building. Although spaces are generally available we can't guarantee parking unfortunately.
Q: Are there any accessibility issues for wheelchairs?
There are steps to the front of the building, we have a ramp that can be used for access, please advise when booking your ticket so we can have it in place. There is a lift in the building and a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
Q: What's the cancellation policy?
A: Free to cancel or reschedule up until 2 days before the class
Q: How long does the class run for, and what's the price?
A: 2.5 hours, £32 per guest

What to Expect
You’ll be welcomed into the studio and introduced to the clay through a series of simple, guided exercises designed especially for beginners.
Our artist will guide you through shaping, building, carving, and experimenting - helping you create while keeping the atmosphere light, playful, and relaxed.
You'll have the option of capturing your piece in charcoal, another wonderfully tactile material, the two activities work really well together.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with your finished piece, something uniquely yours.
