Silver Wrap Ring Workshop

Create your own individual silver wrap ring.

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests       £50 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

This is a short course suitable for beginners, making a lovely silver wrap ring and adding individual texture to make it uniquely yours.
During this session, you will get to practise some of the traditional silversmith techniques needed to create your wrap ring. This course will give you a taste of working in a metal workshop, using traditional tools and techniques. A brilliant taster for anyone who is interested in the mechanics of metalwork, and as there is no hot metal involved, this workshop is suitable for 13 years and above with an accompanying adult.
During this course, you will practise the following:
  • Measuring your chosen finger and sizing your ring
  • Using a jeweller's saw to cut your silver to measure
  • Shaping the silver wire into a wrap ring
  • Sanding and clean up of your ring
  • Adding texture and patterns using a variety of techniques and tools
  • Finishing and polishing the ring.
Timings for the course are estimates, and as its not a project that can be finished at home the session will continue until your piece is finished.

Based in Cheshire, my studio is the venue for lots of workshops and classes where you can try your hand at jewellery making using both traditional and modern silversmithing techniques. The studio is well equipped with everything you need to learn and practise your skills to create lovely jewellery.
Workshops and classes are limited to the number of students to ensure that everyone has lots of access to the available tools and teaching time.
I am currently studying for my level three Award in Education and Training, which assesses my ability to plan, create and evaluate training for adult learners. I very much hope this will enhance the experience we offer here in the studio. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have an further questions.
