Join us for an exciting and informative class where you will delve into the world of silver clay. Discover the key skills needed to create beautiful jewellery pieces that you can take home with you.
Don't worry if you're new to this craft - this workshop is perfect for beginners. You'll be guided through the process step by step, creating a textured charm or pendant as your starting point. Feel confident and at ease as you learn how to handle, shape, cut, and refine the silver clay to craft your own unique designs.
In this workshop, you will:
  • Learn all about silver clay and its history
  • Understand how to set up your workstation
  • Find out how to prepare your silver clay
  • Add textures and detail to your pieces
  • Join silver clay components and learn how to refine your pieces
  • Safely fire your creations using a small Butane torch (over 16’s only)
  • Polish and finish your jewellery
  • Use patina for intricate details
After the class, you'll take home your finished pieces in a lovely jewellery box. If you want to continue your silver clay journey, we offer advanced workshops or provide Silver Clay kits for you to work on at your own pace at home.

What you'll get
You will get enough silver clay to make 2-3 pieces of silver jewellery depending on the size. A standard chain and bail are included, as are ear hooks if you make earrings. You'll be able to wear your jewellery when you leave, or you can take it away in a jewellery box.
Knowledge required
This class is for absolute beginners. So if you've always wanted to work with silver clay but don't know where to start, then this workshop is for you.
What to bring
You don't need to bring anything with you other than your creative and enthusiastic self.

Pepper Tree Studio is the perfect place to find a variety of exciting art and craft workshops. The studio was set up by metal clay artist, Richard Allen, whose silver clay taster and themed workshops cater for all skill levels, from the absolute beginner to the more advanced. From a personalised one to one session to corporate experiences and hen parties.
Although our studio is based in the Victoria Dock area of Hull in East Yorkshire, we hold workshops all over the North of England (and sometimes further afield!) Come and join us on one of our workshops, we know you'll have a lot of fun.
Richard regularly showcases his designs and has had work displayed in Poland and Japan as well as in galleries in the UK.
Pepper Tree Studio will soon be offering a wide variety of other workshops including polymer clay, acrylic paint pouring, textured art, Japanese calligraphy and paper clay.
