Make a unique patchwork cushion cover at this two-day sewing course in Barnsley.

2 x 2.5 hours Class size 3 to 4 guests       £36 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join this creative workshop and learn how to make a lovely patchwork cushion using beautiful reclaimed fabrics. This is a wonderful activity for anyone looking to try patchwork in a fun and relaxed setting.
In this class, you can choose to design a cushion with either 16, 25, or (if you're feeling brave) 36 squares. The workshop is based on my book, "How to Cheat at Patchwork, " so you will learn my own easy method for sewing neat patchwork squares every time. We will be working with reclaimed fabric scraps, such as used denim from jeans and cuttings from upholstery projects. A full selection of materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring any scraps of your own that you'd like to incorporate.
This workshop is ideal for those who know the basics of how to use a sewing machine. No other skills are needed – just your imagination!
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a clever new technique while turning pre-loved fabrics into something new. You’ll leave feeling creatively fulfilled, with a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind cushion to treasure.

Hello, I’m Suzy Todd – the heart and hands behind The Sewing Room & The Craft Space.
I’ve spent many years immersed in the world of sewing, crafts, and textiles, and I’m lucky enough to have turned that passion into my own cosy little shop. Here you’ll find fabric, haberdashery, and plenty of inspiration.
But more than that, it’s a place to learn, create, and feel at home. The newly refurbished Craft Space consists of a fully functional craft room, a cosy snug with easy chairs (for breakout groups or just having a cuppa), a small kitchen area with tea and coffee facilities, and toilet just for the group's use, all decorated in a fun, contemporary style.
Through my sewing and craft classes, I love sharing skills in a friendly, down-to-earth way. There are no airs and graces here – just me, guiding you at your own pace, helping you to discover the joy of making something with your own two hands.
Alongside teaching, I also write sewing books, where I pass on practical tips and creative ideas that anyone can try. My mission has always been simple: to make sewing and craft accessible, enjoyable, and part of everyday life.
Whether you’re brand new to a sewing machine or an experienced crafter looking for fresh inspiration, The Sewing Room & The Craft Space is your place to relax, learn, and create.
