Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly; however, we suggest that you are familiar with a sewing machine. Preferable if you can bring your own machine but we have machines that can be borrowed, please let us know in advance.
What to bring
We will send instructions on the specific fabric and thread you will need to bring with you.- Your chosen fabric.
- Your sewing machine and power cable (unless you opt to borrow one from us).
- The sewing machine manual and any accompanying accessories.
- Bobbins and bobbin case, if required for your machine.
- Sewing threads in matching colours.
- Basic sewing supplies.
- Paper and pen if you wish to take notes.
- Your lunch.

Your teacher
Having studied Textiles at Manchester School of Art and focusing in on textile waste and solutions, I was devastated by the issues caused due to pollution, waste and climate change. I began my journey with up-cycling and mending techniques to combat this waste and my own anxiety. My practice explores and experiments with re-use and re-purposing processes within fashion and textiles. With community engagement at the heart of my motives, I am all about sustainable and creative wellbeing achieved through workshops and 1-1 tuition.
