What you'll do
Ready to begin your jewellery making journey? Learn everything you need to know at this hands-on, seven-week course at The Fox Studios in Warrington.
Over seven weeks, you will learn a range of jewellery making skills from soldering, piercing, and forming to enamelling. Held on either mornings or evenings, it's the perfect creative outlet to help you feel calm and rejuvenated each week.
If you're a beginner, or new to our workshop, we'll cover basic jewellery making skills for the first one to two weeks before starting up your projects. If you're not sure what you want to make, then we can start with rings, bangles, and then a stone-setting project, or you can choose to make earrings and pendants. Any of these projects build up your skills to allow you to tackle more complicated projects.
The course is suitable for all abilities, from beginners to those with more advanced skills. You will learn what you need to progress in a relaxed and supportive environment, surrounded by like-minded creatives.
By the end of the course, you'll have honed your skills and crafted stunning jewellery pieces you can be proud of. We can't wait to welcome you!
Please note:
- If you're not sure whether this course is suitable for you, but you want to learn jewellery making, then please contact your teacher, and they will do their best to answer any questions or concerns.
- The minimum age to attend is sixteen. A paying adult must accompany all 16-17-year-olds.

Knowledge required
The course is suitable for all abilities, from beginners to those with more advanced skills. You will learn what you need to progress.
What you'll get
If you are a beginner, all the basic kit is included in your course fee. There is a small extra fee for silver. If you progress to the next level, you will be required to purchase a small resource kit, which will be around £10.

Your teacher
I set up The Fox Studios so that I had a bricks and mortar place in Warrington, where I could teach my passion, jewellery. I had been planning this for some time (around 3 years), before I went ahead and took the plunge. I chose Warrington for a few reasons, it's my home town, it's quite central (directly between Liverpool and Manchester) and because, well, where else would I set up jewellery classes?
I have been creative for as long as I can remember. When I left school I couldn't decide whether I wanted to do Fashion or Fine Art. I chose Fashion. I'm not quite sure why. It was an experience, and I enjoyed the journey, but I'm not sure I'm very fashionable. I have continued to sketch and paint, and have done so for many years. Due to a big life change in 2000, I started an evening class in jewellery and silversmithing and I can quite safely say I was hooked. I eventually went back to University as a mature student and finished my degree in 2008. A few short months later I was back teaching on the evening class where I'd first picked up the bug and it turned out I loved teaching.
I've been a jeweller for around 20 years now. I never expected to become a teacher, but it's something I really enjoy (and I hope it's something I'm good at, students do keep returning). I try to tailor the learning experience to the individual student, so that you can get the most out of the course.
