I booked the class having finally taken the plunge and treated myself to a sewing machine, I hadn’t used one since leaving school. The class was great just what I needed, Sally was calm, relaxed and easy to follow nothing was rushed her instructions were easy to understand, she demonstrated everything and made sure I was clear before continuing. She explained everything and was happily to go back if I was unsure, the pace was just right and I didn’t feel overwhelmed by facts. Sally showed me the different stitches my machine could do, explained about different needles for different materials and jobs, also about possible problems I might have and looking for causes and solutions. The hour flew by and was great I learnt so much and I was a great introduction to my machine, it’s capabilities and she gave me ideas for projects which I wouldn’t find too hard initially. She also gave me ideas to look out for on the internet from the Hobbycraft website and some troubleshooting tools and ideas. I came away feeling more confident and comfortable about exploring my sewing machine by myself. So a huge thank you to Sally at the Oxford Hobbycraft. I’ll definitely do my classes and see if anymore come up to help with future projects.

The whole event was a great way to relax and spend and hour which went far too fast. Sarah Jane was knowledgeable and there for support and to answer any questions and problems as well as giving suggestions. The venue is easy to access with plenty of parking, having the workshop means you are out of the way of shoppers so not blocking any access or ways round as well as being out of the public gaze if you really make a mess, which none of us did. A really great morning and great value, plus a unique door wreath which will go on for a number of years.

I had no idea what to expect from this course or what the brush lettering involved, however it was a great start and inside into a new craft for me. I was the only person on the course the instructor was a great help and very patient with my lack of knowledge. The writing was very like italics which I did at school, however the brush wasn't like my pen! The whole process felt quite strange but my the end of the session it was more natural this was definitely down to the patience of my instructor. I went home and kept up the practice so now I'm more confident and use it on cards and labels.
The kit and the location were as always first rate, the staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. I can't wait to do my next course. Thanks for your knowledge and patience.

The wreath looks great and is still up the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, a good atmosphere, well worth the money.

The atmosphere was relaxed, Kate was knowledgeable and keen to share her expertise, as always the location was clear, airy and bright. With the resources being individually packaged they were easy to transport home. The only slight problem was the cloche design as when the base was attached you couldn't use or see the light. So they had to be taken away unfinished to enable a small hole to be drilled to allow the light to shine through.Good value for money and a good way too spend an hour on a Saturday morning.
