Sea Glass Silver Bangle Silversmithing Workshop

Create your own bespoke silver bangle or cuff set with sea glass in this full-day silversmithing workshop in Cirencester with expert tutor Fiona Dowling. You'll learn the fundamentals of silversmithing – sawing, filing, hammering, soldering, hand-stamping, and finishing – and put each technique straight to work creating pieces made to fit you perfectly. With a choice of silver wire gauges and cuff styles, you'll start by marking and sawing your silver, then form and hammer it to create beautiful curvature and texture before moving on to the really special bit: creating a bezel setting from scratch to secure your sea glass onto the bangle.Fiona will guide you through every step, teaching you how to solder safely with the torch and showing you professional finishing and polishing techniques so your piece looks beautifully made. Your focus will be creating one main bangle that fits you perfectly, then you'll have time to make additional pieces or practise techniques you want to refine. It's hands-on, immersive work with expert support throughout, so you'll feel confident using proper tools and techniques every step of the way.You'll leave with up to three finished bangles or cuffs – bespoke, handcrafted pieces set with sea glass, each one unique and made exactly to your measurements. Every time you wear them, you'll feel that satisfaction of knowing you made something this beautiful and professional yourself, complete with fundamental silversmithing skills you can build on.

• The cost of the silver and stones is not included in the workshop cost. The approximate cost of these materials is £60-£120 and payable to the tutor on the day.
• You are welcome to bring your own sea glass or sea pottery, but please be aware not all pieces will be suitable to set.
