This beginner-friendly screen printing workshop in Liverpool introduces the fundamentals of screen printing through observational drawing and printmaking.
No experience is needed! Using still life as inspiration, you'll will spend the first part of the session creating a series of loose, expressive studies using a variety of mark-making techniques, that could include ink, charcoal or monoprint.
These initial experiments will provide the starting point for developing a bold two-layer screen print design.
What you'll learn:
  • Preparing artwork for the screen.
  • Exposing or stenciling the design.
  • Inking the screen.
  • Pulling prints by hand.
  • Accurately registering two colours.
By the end of the workshop, everyone will leave with a small edition of their own original screen prints and the confidence to continue exploring the creative possibilities of screen printing!

We are Liverpool Community Print Station CIC, a small female-led screen printing workshop located at Edge Hill Railway Station on platform 1.
As a community interest company, we operate on a not-for-profit basis. This means all our profits go straight back into our free community events and to keep our workshop running.
Whether you're eager to learn the basics of screen printing or you're a printmaker already and want to advance your skills, we have a range of workshops coming up to suit you. From classic paper cut stencil to advanced photographic CMYK screen printing, you can learn it here.
Our artist and technician, Rhonda Davies, has over 20 years of experience in printmaking and will take you step by step through the process and ensure you have fun along the way. We also offer artist support, screen services, and bed hire at LCPS, so if you would like something different, please contact us and ask.
