Ring Making Workshop

If you're a jewellery fan who'd leap at the chance to make your own handmade pieces, this ring-making workshop is for you!

Hosted by experienced jewellers in a friendly, relaxed environment, you'll be greeted with cake and hot drinks before settling in to enjoy some demonstrations of everything you'll be trying during the class.

Using traditional silversmithing techniques and tools you will learn how to cut out your silver with a jewellers’ saw. You will file it to the perfect shape. Then using a blowtorch, you will learn the annealing technique which is used to soften the metal so that it can be shaped using jewellers’ hammers and a mandrel.

You'll have plenty of time to experiment with textures on copper sheet before moving on to creating your silver ring, making sure it's exactly the way you want it. Finally comes the cleaning and refining stage, which can be extremely satisfying if you are a perfectionist!

You'll be supported throughout the class by your knowledgeable hosts, who'll be on hand to answer any questions you may have as well as keeping those hot drinks topped up. You'll leave the class with more silversmithing knowledge than you might have thought possible, along with your unique, handmade ring to keep forever as a keepsake and wear with pride.

Please note: the course price does not include materials, so please be mindful of this when you think about what you would be interested in making. Sarah or Violeta can explain this to you before you start your project. Corzo & Wood sell all the materials required for your project on the day. Most students spend £25 – £120.
