12 hours total (over 2 dates) Class size 1 to 2 guests       £150 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

This workshop is ideally for students who love colour and want to explore how a simple printing technique can be used to create multiple effects and depth in your designs. You do not need any previous printing experience. It is also suitable for those who want to take their printing further and may have tried other techniques in the past.
Reduction lino printing, despite the name, is full of possibilities and is a great way for people interested in lino printing to create exciting images using only one lino block. Cutting away for each layer until your image is complete.
The tutor will lead you through the technique that she specialises in and will help you develop your ideas. Taking inspiration from plants, forms, your own ideas, and looking at ways to express this in printed format.
What you'll get
Each student will be provided with 2 A6 lino blocks and scrap pieces. Additional lino can be bought from the tutor.
We will be using Caligo Safe Wash Relief Printing inks, made using vegetable oils so can be cleaned up with soap and water rather than solvents.
Knowledge required
No previous experience required, but always welcomed.
What to bring
Please bring an apron or wear suitable clothing.
Bring your ideas along, photos, or drawings for inspiration.
Session repeats

After the first session, the next session is: Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November 10am - 4pm.

The Bristol Folk House is an adult education centre providing a variety of part-time day and evening courses and workshops for over 18's. The Folk House provides a welcoming environment in which to explore your creativity and learn new skills.
We provide courses and workshops that engage the local community. The cafe provides fantastic organic food and a space to get together before and after classes. It is also open to the public and is the perfect place for those seeking a relaxed and friendly place in Bristol city centre. Live music and festivals happen throughout the year, as well as markets, events and exhibitions.
The Bristol Folk House is part of a charity and we receive no funding from the government, the city council or any other institution and our income is wholly derived from course fees, venue hire, members and fundraising events.
The centre began in the 1870's with the aim of supporting access to education in the community. The first programme of activities was produced for the academic year in 1920-1921.
