Ready to have a go at making a couple of beautiful pieces of pottery and have great fun in the process?
During the 1.5-hour class, you'll be able to make two pots and decorate them using liquid clay coloured with oxides. This slipware technique eliminates the teacher having to decorate for you or for you to return later to decorate your pots. The use of earthenware clay brings an extra warmth to the finished pieces.
Once you've finished decorating, Chris will fire the pots and add a clear glaze. After another round of firing, your pots will be ready to collect in 3-4 weeks or can be posted to you at an additional cost.
Get ready for a transformative experience as you immerse yourself in the art of pottery-making. Let your creativity flow and enjoy the process of creating unique pieces of pottery. At the end of the class, you'll have two beautifully decorated pots to take home and cherish.
Please note that weekend classes are for 2 or more people.

I have been creating pottery for the last 25+ years and now teach approximately 400 people a year from 1.5 hour taster sessions up to whole days or a series of classes for those wanting to learn more techniques. My specialism is slipware pottery which means that the colours that you see come from the clay itself, with the addition of various oxides, and a clear glaze is then added afterwards. This is ideal for classes because you can decorate the raw pot as soon as it has been made.
