7 hours Class size 1 to 6     label £95 - £165 (£95 per Public class, £165 per Private class)

Learn to make your own jewellery at this fun full-day jewellery making class in a relaxing rural location on Buckinghamshire/Bedfordshire border. You'll be shown how to make a beautiful pendant and a small pair of earrings or charms from precious metal clay.

You'll start your creative day with a cup of tea or coffee and an introduction to this immersive craft from your experienced tutor.

During this jewellery making workshop, you'll work with a material called Precious Metal Clay (PMC). This is a versatile, clay-like substance with particles of fine silver. The beauty of PMC is that it can be manipulated in the same way as any modelling clay, but once fired, the binding agents are burnt off, leaving the metal form intact. By using metal clay, very fine detail can be achieved, including impressions that would require casting in any other method of metalwork.

This workshop offers a great introduction to PMC and jewellery making, giving you the chance to get familiar with the tools required for this form of crafting. Throughout your jewellery class, you'll learn the basic techniques of preparing and handling the clay, shaping, adding texture, firing and finishing your jewellery. You will have the opportunity to make a textured pendant and small pair of earrings or charms.

By the end of your jewellery making experience, you'll have made your own pendant and small pair of earrings to take home with you. Your finished items will be unique - wear them with pride or gift them to someone special!

Please note: The price of this jewellery class does not include materials. PMC is available as an add-on or to purchase on the day in packs of 5g – £15 and 15g – £41. From a 15g pack it is possible to make a small pendant and a pair of earrings. Silver chains and earring loops are also subject to additional charges on the day.

Add-ons available for this class
