Looking for fun and relaxing things to do in Broadstone? Get creative with colour at this fluid painting workshop with Paint & Pop and learn how to decorate your chosen statue!
Also known as acrylic pouring, fluid painting is a type of abstract art that involves pouring layers of thin, liquid acrylic paint onto a canvas. Because of that fluid consistency, the paint moves and spreads freely, creating interesting and organic shapes.
Using statues of dogs, cats, rabbits or cartoon characters as the canvas makes fluid painting easy and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their skill level. Once you have chosen your base colour, which is used to cover your model, you then select two more colours to bring in your personality and creativity and make it your own.
No matter which approach you choose to apply your fluid acrylic paint, you will consistently be surprised by the designs you can create. Once you have finished you'll leave your artwork at our studio to safely dry (for around 72 hours) and receive a call or text when it's ready to collect.
Please note:
  • If the venue is provided, we can travel 10 miles at an extra cost of £10 with a maximum group size of 15. Please provide reasoning for your request, e.g. special needs, disabled or dementia group.
  • Children’s parties can be held for over 8's, with no more than six per party.

The studio is really fun and vibrant, our teacher was incredible and her humour made it even better! We were allowed to bring some Prosecco and glasses were provided. The paint pouring itself was really fun, it was better than our expectations, and you could go on for hours trying to create the right patterns. Paint & Pop was born after our own experience in Sydney where we were visiting our son and his partner. They invited us to a bear painting afternoon and a Picasso-style paint and sip experience. Although we weren’t sure what either of that meant or if we were even creative enough, we soon realised it didn’t matter. Skill and talent weren’t important. It was all about creating something with those you love, spending quality time together doing something you wouldn’t ordinarily do and getting to take that experience away with you in the form of a tangible memory.
On our return home we were looking for somewhere to share this experience with our younger son, but we couldn’t find anywhere, so here we have Paint & Pop; a studio here in Broadstone, Dorset. We sincerely hope we can deliver the fun, the laughter, and the memories for you to hold on to like we did.
