At our Studio we only have 2 Pottery Wheels, so dates can be booked on request, if you have more than 2 people, we can do a taster session which includes hand-building and pottery wheel throwing so you can take it in turns. We are very flexible with dates, so get in touch to book this Workshop.
Location: Fire Nest Studio, Rushey Ford Business Park, Kempston West End, MK43 8RU
In our Pottery Wheel Throwing workshop, you will embark on a creative journey to learn the art of working with clay on a spinning wheel. Discover how to craft beautiful and functional pieces such as pots, bowls and mugs with your own two hands.
Feel nervous about trying something new? Do not worry! We will guide you through each step with patience and encouragement, making sure you feel confident and inspired throughout the workshop. You'll be amazed at what you can create!
During the class, you'll have the chance to get hands-on with the clay, learning how to shape and mould it into unique pieces. The therapeutic experience of wheel throwing will leave you feeling relaxed and fulfilled, eager to explore your creativity further.
At the end of the workshop, you'll proudly take home your own handmade pottery creations, a tangible reminder of the skills you've acquired and the memories you've made.
What's included:
  • 2 hour Workshop on the Wheel
  • All firings included, you can choose your glazes for your pieces
  • Items will be ready approx 6-8 weeks after the session
A few things to know before your session:
Please come prepared for a hands-on, messy experience! We recommend removing rings, bracelets, and other jewellery before your session, as clay can get into settings and be difficult to clean. Long or acrylic nails can also make wheel throwing tricky, so please bear this in mind when booking. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty — clay has a way of going everywhere!
Before You Book - Please Read:
We're a small, independent pottery studio. We pour our hearts into every class and work hard to deliver beautiful results.
Lead times: Ceramic pieces take approximately 6-8 weeks to fire - these are estimates and often take longer. We cannot speed this up or provide daily updates.
Refund policy: We do not provide refunds for completed workshops or firing outcomes. High-temperature firing is unpredictable by nature.
What we ask: Please read and accept our full Terms & Conditions before booking. Respect our team's time and efforts.
Thank you!
