I’ve always felt a deep appreciation for nature and have been creative, making my own clothes and Christmas cards.
But it was 10 years ago when I discovered the puffins in Wales that my birdwatching - bird art obsession began. I began with making stencils of birds and creating spray paint art. When I travel on my birdwatching trips, I can't take my spray paint, so I got into watercolor, often mixing mediums of watercolor with black spray outlines.
A friend introduced me to abstract acrylic painting, and I immediately saw this as a backdrop for my birds and have developed a style that is easy for others to adopt and capture their favorite parts of nature.
After the popularity of Christmas card and art-making workshops in 2025, I am now running nature and bird-focused sessions, including sessions that start with a bird walk, with all the birdwatching equipment, so people can tune in to the feathered friends flitting around in the bushes, lakes, and coastal habitats.
I am in the process of building up a following for NaturArt Workshops on social media but have been focusing on my personal platform as I have a lot more followers there.
