Pet Portrait Prep

I will have pre-drawn your pet, pre-mixed your background colour ready for you in a pot and selected your main starting tones of light, medium and dark. There will be a guide on how to mix these starting tones on your pet's picture and the colours named ready for you on your palette.

Once all the main tones are down, we will start to look at the eyes, nose and mouth area and then go back to the fur building up layers with hair flicks, mixing other tones and looking closely at your pet's unique features.

Join this paint your pet workshop at Ridgewell Village Hall and discover a feel-good way to celebrate your favourite animal companion. Guided by Danielle, a professional artist, you'll spend three hours in a supportive environment where you'll learn to capture your pet’s unique personality on canvas. Whether you're a first-timer or already feel artistic, this low-pressure class is designed to make the process simple and enjoyable.
To ensure you have a stress-free start, you'll provide a photo of your pet and your preferred background colour ahead of time. Danielle will pre-draw the outline and prepare a custom colour palette just for you, so you can focus on the fun part – bringing the portrait to life. With hands-on help every step of the way, you'll explore basic painting techniques while sipping on a glass of Prosecco and enjoying a few biscuits.
The session is all about switching off from the daily routine and enjoying a creative break with a friendly vibe. You'll finish the workshop with a finished 25 x 25 cm stretched canvas and a newfound sense of confidence in your artistic abilities. This experience offers a heart-warming way to create a lasting keepsake that you'll want to show off as soon as you get home.
  • All painting materials – everything you need to create your masterpiece.
  • Aprons – to keep your clothes tidy while you work.
  • A glass of Prosecco – a little treat to help you relax.
  • Hot drinks and biscuits – stay fuelled while you paint.
  • Free on-site parking – for easy access to the venue.
  • Disabled access – available upon request.
Please note: Only one pet per canvas is allowed to ensure everyone has enough time and guidance to complete their work. This event is for ages 16+. For disabled access, please provide advance notice so the car bollard can be moved for you.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 4 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.
What you'll get
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a completed pet portrait painted on a stretched canvas measuring 25 × 25 cm, ready to take home and proudly display it!

Having completed a degree in Interior Design and gaining experience in the industry, I felt drawn back to my childhood passion for art. For the past 10 years, I have worked as a professional artist, with much of that time dedicated to creating commissioned pet portraits.
Over time, however, I developed a strong desire to discover and refine my own artistic voice. For the last five years, I have focused on developing a distinctive style centred around expressive acrylic paintings of forests and wildlife, capturing both character and atmosphere through colour and markmaking.
Alongside this journey, I worked at Art-K, teaching art to children, teenagers, and adults. Teaching adults became especially rewarding, as I loved seeing people reconnect with their creativity and step away from the stresses of everyday life. This inspired me to start my own adult art classes, creating a welcoming space where people can relax, unwind, and make time for creativity again.
