One-to-one Crochet Workshop

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a one-to-one and ask any questions you have about Crochet

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about crochet. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for crocheters looking for that next step on from our Beginners' Workshops, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a crochet pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Sally Walton, attended Sep 2026: I wanted to learn Tunisian crochet which we did the teacher made it all seem so simple was very patient with me I was new to crochet and did not have a clue. There was no distractions in the room which made it great
  • 5/5 from Gavin Robson, attended Aug 2026: Dawn was very patient with Ava. Great encouragement and instructions help Ava get the hang of crocheting. Ava said she was a little nervous at first but dawns gentle, calming voice soon made her feel at ease. Got some tips on the correct materials to use. Ava is now crocheting with ease. Thanks.
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Butler, attended Apr 2026: Dawn was great at a one-to-one crochet session. She was really patient, clear and tailored the session to the needs of my daughter.
  • 5/5 from Danielle Nembhard, attended Feb 2026: I had a fantastic one‑to‑one crochet session with Dawn. She was incredibly patient, clear, and encouraging throughout. I arrived not even able to make a basic chain, and by the end of the workshop I’d completed a full granny square, something I honestly didn’t think I’d manage in one session. Dawn explained everything in a way that finally made crochet “click” for me, and she made the whole experience really enjoyable. I did pay for the add‑on crochet hook and ball of wool, which I forgot to ask for at the end, so it might be helpful if these could be given upfront so nothing gets missed. Other than that, it was a brilliant workshop and I’d definitely recommend it.
  • 5/5 from Eileen Smith, attended Oct 2025: I was stuck on a crochet project, however, after a one-to-one session with Gwen in York all became clear. I'd bought the wrong type of yarn, more suited to macrame or a bathmat than a granny square jacket! She also helped me with new stitches and cleared up a few errors.
  • 5/5 from Cheryl McBride, attended Aug 2025: I learnt how to understand and read the pattern and dawn the teacher shown me how to follow the pattern and crochet and helped me whilst I did mine. She was lovely and very helpful and I picked up very quickly and now have the confidence what to do. I liked having the 1:1 and felt relaxed in a nice quiet room.
  • 5/5 from Carrie Wray, attended Jan 2025: Great, patient teacher. I wanted to learn how to crochet having never done before! Made my first square.
  • 5/5 from Karol Torres, attended Oct 2024: Thank you Dawn, you were really kind and patient with my daughter. Excellent teacher. We would book agsin!
  • 5/5 from Jo Walker, attended Aug 2023: A very useful introduction to crochet with a patient and enabling tutor in a quiet room. I was shown some basics, given time to practise and provided with useful advice to help me to begin learning this skill.
  • 5/5 from Rachel Green, attended May 2023: The teacher was friendly and helpful. She answered all of my questions and offered wonderful advice.
