One-to-one Cricut Workshop

Join us in store and talk to a craft expert for tips and advice on your Cricut machine or project!

1 hour Class size 1 on 1       £28

Join a Hobbycraft Colleague one-to-one and ask any questions you have about your Cricut machine! Stuck on a project? Need help with Design Space? Trying to get to grips with using a new material? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for all Cricut users, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need about your machine. Whether you’re crafting with a Maker, a Joy, Joy Xtra or an Explore machine, you’ll be able to get excellent insight for all kinds of projects. It’s a great way to get a feel for your new machine or learn about features you’re not as confident with yet.
During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Hobbycraft Colleague know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.
You’re sure to walk away a Cricut crafting pro, ready to start making your next big project!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Please note: If you would like to discuss the Foil Transfer Tool, Knife Blade, “Print Then Cut” feature, “Curved Text” feature or “Offset” we would recommend that you book on to one of our online one-to-one Cricut workshop sessions as we are currently unable to demonstrate these features in-store due to them being for the desktop version of Design Space only.

Please note, our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 2/5 from Tracie J Gooding, attended Dec 2024: Firstly, I must say that the member of staff was very good, obviously knowledgeable and helpful and I don't blame her at all for my experience. However, I was really very disappointed in the "One to One Cricut Workshop" I attended at my local Hobbycraft. I paid £21 for it and all it involved was standing at a desk while the staff member showed me on the computer a few things I could do with my machine using the app. To me, a workshop is sitting at a table, being able to use a machine oneself, hopefully with some printed handouts detailing the very complicated procedure needed to produce results from the machine. Just watching somebody who knows what they are doing quickly click through the app hasn't helped me to understand how the machine works I'm fafraid. I feel that what we had (I had paid an extra £5 for my daughter to be able to stand beside me) was a demonstration. We were even interrupted a couple of times by other staff who had queries! As I say, I don't blame the lady who did the demo (and that's what it was) but that I had to pay £21 for it was outrageous. Many of my friends agree that it was not worth the money, and I would not recommend workshops at the store I'm afraid.
  • 5/5 from Rachal Waters, attended Oct 2024: Amber is amazing! She answered all my queries around Design Studio, very knowledgeable about the product, and helped to give pointers with the projects I have in mind. Can't beat face to face tuition.

  • 5/5 from Tracey Butcher, attended Feb 2024: Amber is so knowledgeable, she could answer everything I put to her, and never once made me feel silly or embarrassed, being an older lady and not understanding things on computers so quickly as others I arrived early, but was able to get started, I learnt a lot from her, thank you again Amber! TB

  • 4/5 from Kim Chatfield, attended Jan 2024: Not overly impressed that you have to pay for advice on purchasing a machine and then u do it on the shop floor so others can hear aswell Amber knew her stuff and was very helpful couldn’t fault her

  • 4/5 from Hazel, attended Sep 2023: Carman spoke at 200 miles an hour which was ok but, I felt like i was unable to tke it all in. i did come away with a few bit (I thought) until I got home and realised that the tablet app layout was actually different to the one on my laptap so I having to guess (which made me just give up again).

  • 5/5 from Ann Lay, attended Jun 2023: Amber was very patient and knowledgable. She first schecked her understanding of what I wanted to learn or have help with. My requirements and the machines I was interested in. She demonstrated the Cricut machines really well giving me an actual run through so that I could see how everything would work along with any tricks or tips. Amber clearly knew her stuff and was experienced and enthusiastic about the benefits of these machines. The area was well set out and ready for my arrival.

  • 5/5 from Michelle Frost, attended Feb 2023: Teacher very good, was able to show what I need to do, however, the hardwear let the class down as I would have been shown how to do it better & easier on a computer - had I known I could have brought my laptop. The lady was very good though.
  • 5/5 from Michelle Wright, attended Jan 2023: Carmen was absolutely anazing, she had helped my Sister before Christmas in advising her what to buy for me from the cricut range, I am an absolute beginner in the die cutting area and this workshop was absolutely essential for me to get started and Carmen has definitely helped me to gain confidence to get the cricut out and have a go, have already booked for next week, Carmen is a fantastic person to help anyone to get started so many thanks

  • 3/5 from Kelly Clark, attended Sep 2022: I cannot fault Amber that really went out of her way to help me. The only problem was the fact I couldn't use my own machine to do the project so found it a bit of a waste of time and money.
  • 5/5 from Fiona Hubert, attended Jun 2022: I had never used a Cricut machine before so wanted to try it before I bought it. Carmen is so nice and helpful she helped me understand how to use the Cricut machine and I made a leaf iron on that can go on a bag or t shirt. I also saw her afterwards when I decided to buy one and she helped me find some vinyl and mats to go with the explorer 3. It was a great course, but I wished it was longer as the hour went so quick so couldn't learn everything, but enough to start making at home.
  • 5/5 from Linda Hamilton, attended May 2022: Teacher was great and very patient with me. The course taught me alot as I was a complete beginner.

  • 5/5 from Rowen Saunders, attended Apr 2022: As a complete newbie to cricut, I have been very nervous about using the machine. My tutor was great and knew her stuff! Now I have confidence to get stuck in! Will probably book in for another lesson in the future to learn more complicated things!
  • 5/5 from Chris Bishop, attended Mar 2022: I really enjoyed the one to one session. I hadn't used the Cricut since I bought it because I didn't know where to start with my very specific needs. Carmen answered all my questions, showed me how to use the Cricut to produce what I need to incorporate pieces into my collage paintings from my own designs. Not only that, she was so enthusiastic and her enthusiasm was infectious. I would thoroughly recommend a one to one session to anyone starting out.

  • 4/5 from Deborah Garrod, attended Nov 2021: Trainer good and seemed very knowledgeable, she gave a good overall insight into Cricut and the craft. The venue was fairly quiet but there was limited space to use the equipment as the worktop was covered with items for sale within the shop. I was given a demonstration of the Cricut machine and the design space app and encouraged to ask any questions which I did. Overall it was a useful experience.

The materials used were great quality and lovely examples of how I could branch out into using vinyl. Amber was super supportive and shared some really helpful tips to get me started!
