He’s a very patient teacher, so anyone like me has no need to worry because they’re a complete beginner. I really enjoyed seeing how to construct the painting and some clever tips and having the opportunity to mix colours and see how the paint behaves. A great way to spend a morning. The Westbury Arts centre (location) is also fantastic and inspiring. Many thanks.

I learned how to paint with oil, he gave me very good tips and guided me step by step. Robin is a fantastic teacher and a talented artist and it was very interesting to spend a few hours with him. We were pleased by our results and are eager to paint more. It was a relaxing way to spend an afternoon in good company and to learn about oil painting and the arts centre. We would definitely recommend the experience as a gift to another or oneself.

Robin is a lovely teacher and we were actually suprised about the outcome of our first attempt. It was a very relaxed afternoon and this most definitely will not be our last time. The class is good value for money and all we needed to bring was a canvas.

With Robins guidance before we knew it we had each completed something we are proud of despite never having oil painted before. I would thoroughly recommend trying the session out if your curious as it's a great little crash course in it's own right, and to be able to do it in robins own studio in such a beautiful space only added to the experience. Robin was fantastic - patient, encouraging and with the best eclectic taste in background music! The time just flew by. We had no expectations in our abilities but both left with paintings we are ridiculously proud of. Thank you Robin! Would recommend to anyone!

Robin was super friendly and helpful as he guided us from start to finish, with lots of useful tips and tricks. We had lots of fun in his lovely studio and very pleased with our paintings as complete beginners, highly recommend!

Robin is a fantastic teacher and overall great chap! I purchased this class for my girlfriend and I, we had no experience of oil paints before this class whatsoever, but with clear and expert guidance we walked away with a painting each to be proud of and we learnt an awful lot during the day. The lesson took place in the Westbury arts centre, a building with lots of history and character, we received a tour of the building, Robin's studio was warm and comfortable, a healthy amount of hot tea was provided. After a couple of hours of painting with helpful step-by-step guidance, we had a lunch of sandwiches and crisps, then we completed our paintings in another 2 hours of tuition. I think that for the amount of time in class, the top quality materials, beautiful studio and lunch included, this is a very good value class and would recommend to anyone and everyone. Robin is not only a great artist with a wealth of experience to aid his teaching, but a very kind and encouraging person. Thank you for a great day and best wishes, Darren and Emeline

Robin settled us into his studio and we decided on our reference seascape to paint. I had bought the day for my mum as a Mother's Day present, she had always wanted to try painting - we were both beginners. Robin was very patient. We were able to explore our art potential under his supervision and both completed a painting we were proud of in the 4 hour session. Robin created a relaxed environment with his background music and personable approach. Thank you Robin for a memorable experience.
