Robin was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and explained the whole process clearly. ​Having all the colours prepped for us made starting so much easier. Whenever we got stuck, Robin was right there with great advice on how to fix things and keep going. He even kindly helped us carry our paintings to the car at the end! ​We honestly couldn't believe we managed to finish a full painting in just three hours. We're both so pleased with the results. Highly recommended!

Westbury Arts is a beautiful building, and Robin’s studio is packed full of his stunning paintings, which I found inspiring for my lesson. The 3 hours flew by, and I was thrilled with my painting. I have only painted with oils once before, so the one-on-one teaching was really helpful, and I learnt loads of techniques and appreciated the guidance. As a beginner, I was a little nervous, but the session really boosted my confidence with my painting. I also thoroughly enjoyed the music that Robin chose and the cup of tea. A great experience and excellent value!

My husband and I were looking for a creative escape, and Robin's studio provided the perfect setting, it's so cozy and tranquil. Robin himself is a fantastic teacher. He has a calm and encouraging demeanor, and he shared some great tips that made the process so much more enjoyable. He was especially helpful with guiding us on our color palettes, which made a huge difference. The time just flew by! We can't recommend this experience enough and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Robin was so welcoming and he made me feel comfortable straight away! He taught me lots about the medium and I was so pleased with what I was able to achieve within just one lesson! Was very understanding, warm and welcoming right from the beginning even when we left our canvases at home and ran late. I was a complete beginner and my partner had done acrylics before. Robin brought a lot of enthusiasm and expertise to the session, and his love for both the art and the setting really shone through. A wonderful class in a beautiful setting with a lovely teacher who was so easy to get on with. Robin was able to guide us both, me as a complete beginner without an artistic bone in my body and my mum who is naturally very talented. We both enjoyed it immensely and found it very therapeutic. We also thoroughly enjoyed Robin’s music so would recommend that too! Thanks for a great day Robin I feel sure we’ll be back for more.

He perfectly balanced working with someone experienced with a brush (albeit watercolour) and someone very new to painting. Robin also has an astute sense of when to step in and guide and when to leave the student to learn by themselves. Highly recommended!

He’s looking to go back soon to finish off a painting that he started before Christmas and he can’t wait to get stuck back in! And the in-between breaks with the tour of the Westbury Art Club was very informative and interesting. I will surely recommend Robin to others. The class gave an idea of what an oil painting is all about which boost our confidence to explore more.
