Learn how to make moss art in this inspiring class!

3 hours Class size 8 to 18     label £83

Unearth your creative side in the heart of the Cotswolds with this moss art workshop. Unwind with foliage in a warm and welcoming floristry studio nestled in Broadway and transform sustainably preserved moss into an enchanting piece of art that you can call your own!

Your teacher will provide you with a handmade frame and an array of moss types and preserved foliage for you to arrange into a design that resonates with your style. Hang your handmade masterpiece on anyway to breathe life into the place or gift it to someone special as a token of love.

The beautiful moss art will last for months without needing water — just keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A gentle dusting every now and then will keep it fresh.

Why choose Bloomery?
We believe in working with the environment and don’t use non-biodegradable oasis-type floral foam in our designs. Floral foam takes many years to break down, can’t be composted or recycled. In season we buy as many flowers as we can from local flower growers to support the local economy, also UK grown flowers have more scent than blooms from abroad and they also feed our UK bees! Nearly 90% of flowers bought in the UK are imported and may travel up to 3, 000 miles before they see a vase at home, so buying locally means the flowers are fresher and the air miles are none existent.

About me -- Allyson Martin
I’ve always loved working with flowers and plants. As a small child I’d sneak away at my grandparent’s house only to be found in the garden or greenhouse with Grandad, looking after the plants and vegetables that he grew. I finished university and started on a career in retail, eventually becoming a fashion buyer, which took me to some amazing places and I met some wonderful people, but the idea of starting my own flower business has always been with me. When we moved to the area I was able to complete my level 2 floristry certificate at Moreton Morrell college. To my enormous delight I was also awarded floristry student of the year. At this time I also worked for a floral installation company, creating arrangements for events such as the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Henley Regatta, Aegon Tennis tournament and even Wimbledon. I have now reached a point in my life where it’s now or never -- and I don’t want to look back and think ‘what if?‘. So here I am.
