Hi, I’m Maya, the designer and maker behind Crochet by Maya! What started as a love of creating cute crochet characters has grown into my own little world of amigurumi patterns, tutorials, stories and beginner-friendly crochet workshops around Nottinghamshire.My workshops are designed to make crochet feel approachable, relaxed and genuinely fun - especially if you’ve never picked up a crochet hook before! Rather than spending the whole session practising stitches on little squares, we learn through making an actual amigurumi character together, with step-by-step guidance and plenty of hands-on help along the way.I design each workshop project myself and provide everything needed for the session, including yarn, tools, materials and a take-home pattern and tutorial so you can continue at your own pace afterwards.I keep my groups small so I can spend time helping each person individually, and there’s never any pressure to keep up or finish within the session. My favourite part is watching someone arrive convinced they “won’t be able to do it” and then seeing their first little crochet character begin to take shape. Whether you’re completely new to crochet or simply fancy a cosy couple of hours making something cute, you’re very welcome at my table!
